Based in Leeds or London, this is a great opportunity to manage and lead this diverse marketing supply base and support and lead the Category Managers that report into you. This will include Category Management and delivery of initiatives that drive TCO resulting in annual savings/revenue of multi millions annually. As a Senior leadership Role in Procurement, you will also be tasked with improving the function as a whole working collaboratively and taking the initiative to improve the function.

You'll also be working closely with key stakeholders in business functions to define effective sourcing strategies and category implementation plans.

What you will be doing:

  • Gaining and providing expert knowledge of the supply markets and categories including but not limited to MarTech, Sponsorships, Media, Creative, Production, and Market Research and through this bring insight and introduce new/innovative approaches or ways of working to optimize the delivery of the marketing category
  • Building a full category strategy with full alignment and buy in from the marketing stakeholders whilst Identifying, prioritising, and sourcing SRM projects within the category across different spend areas, to be incorporated in the annual procurement plan
  • Driving initiatives to deliver significant cost reductions or incremental revenue and ensuring strategies are implemented and TCO reductions secured, according to implementation plans as agreed with business stakeholders
  • Leading and implementing all sourcing activities and all renewals (RFI, RFP, Negotiation, Auctions, Benchmarking)
  • Actively managing our key "partner suppliers" that will drive continued in contract innovation, service and cost reduction whilst maintaining contractual and business relations and driving negotiations with all assigned suppliers
  • Leading from the front by sourcing and negotiating yourself and also leading a team of category managers. Therefore, strong leadership skills are essential for your team, the function and wider business. Your ability to roll up your sleeves and do fundamental renewal management, organise pitches, lead negotiations and RFPs, is critical.
  • Structuring contracts - working to input key SLAs, Service Credits and working with supplier and internal legal counsel to ensure robust contracting is done and assessing regular performance of key suppliers driving the improvement of performance.

  • In depth experience of Procurement in Marketing is important for this role covering above the line and below the line marketing
  • Excellent knowledge of key contractual clauses and experience in best-in-class sourcing and category management
  • Clear and demonstrable achievements in Procurement in varied industry sectors
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with proven ability to influence at senior levels. Member of CIPS (MCIPS) (preferable).
