About the Role
To achieve our vision of being the most dynamic, creative, and admired soft drinks company, we need a deep understanding of our category, its growth potential, and how our brands can capitalize on opportunities while engaging our customers.
We seek thought leaders with a growth mindset who can identify transformational growth opportunities with retail partners and inspire their team, commercial colleagues, and customers to seize these opportunities.
This role is crucial for executing our category vision and delivering our annual operating plan (AOP), requiring strong collaboration with category strategy, marketing, commercial growth, and sales teams.
You will join team of 9 people and have 6 direct reports. This role is reporting to a Category & Retail Delivery Director and is an office-based secondment with a fixed term contract of 6 months.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to maximize category growth opportunities across macro space, range, fixtures, merchandising, availability, and food-to-go.
- Lead the category team in delivering inspiring category growth plans and customer partnership agendas across the full customer estate.
- Champion the use of customer data, especially loyalty data, to add value to strategy and initiative development.
- Manage the allocated category development budget and team expenses budget effectively.
- Set clear performance objectives, coach and develop the team, and drive improvement in employee engagement scores.
About You
- Extensive FMCG experience, with demonstrable success in the Grocery and Value Retail channel.
- Practical experience in category management processes and managing strategic customer relationships.
- Strong strategic thinking, commercial skills, and the ability to develop a clear category vision.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and people management skills.
- A growth mindset, with the ability to lead transformational change and unlock the best in others.
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Relevant certifications in category management or related fields are an advantage.
