As the Head of Business PR, you will play a crucial role in communicating our strategic messages and promoting our brand while safeguarding our reputation.

As the Head of Business PR, you will work closely with business stakeholders and the wider marketing team to develop impactful PR strategies aligned with our business objectives and marketing strategies. You will proactively identify opportunities to generate optimal media coverage and craft compelling stories for our client groups. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing PR agencies, building relationships with key media outlets, and ensuring PR is integrated into our overall marketing campaigns.

What you will be doing

• Develop annual and quarterly PR strategies aligned with business objectives and marketing strategies.
• Identify opportunities for optimal media coverage and collaborate with the business to craft compelling stories.
• Generate thought leadership campaigns for targeted media and establish effective communication processes.
• Align PR plans with the overarching brand strategy to enhance and protect our brand reputation.
• Ensure PR is integrated into marketing campaigns, including social and paid media, internal comms, and content teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with key national, regional, trade, and industry publications.
• Manage PR agencies and coordinate narratives from all client-facing business areas.
• Implement procedures for approvals, issue resolution, crisis management, and escalation.
• Manage the award processes for corporate client groups to enhance industry reputation.
• Monitor and measure coverage, providing reporting and analysis to stakeholders.
• Arrange media training for internal spokespeople and ensure compliance requirements are met.

What we are looking for

• Extensive record of relevant PR experience, demonstrating significant achievement and management in a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of banking and financial services, with experience in B2B and B2C audiences.
• Ability to build strong and lasting relationships with authenticity.
• Keen interest in political and economic developments and their impact on markets and clients.
• Extensive PR network with strong agency and journalist relationships.
• Experience in a multi-channel marketing environment, understanding how PR integrates with other channels effectively.
• Flexibility to work in a matrix environment, balancing priorities and resolving challenges with tenacity and diplomacy.
• Deep understanding of how diversity, inclusion, and ESG intersect with corporate PR strategies.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including press releases and media stories.
