A little more about your role...
Our UK L&ES Group encompasses a diverse portfolio of light and lighting solutions, assessments, smart technologies, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, technical advisory and much more. We work across multiple public and private sectors including highways, property and buildings, local government, tunnels, ports and airports, rail, and residential. This role can be based out of any our offices UK wide across the WSP portfolio.
We are looking for a Head of Business who will bring:
- Diverse market experience in the lighting industry
- A recognised UK lighting industry profile
- A great network of clients, suppliers and manufacturers
Reporting to the Intelligent Infrastructure Head of Discipline, you will be a confident, forward-thinking individual with an ambitious drive for growth, whilst maintaining our top tier market position. You will lead a team of ~80 specialists supported by a Group Director (GD) driving operational performance and a Group Technical Director (GTD) responsible for technical excellence. You will also be part of WSP's Global Lighting Forum developing and building links and sharing expertise to benefit and grow WSP's global lighting services.
Key responsibilities.....
Strategic Direction - developing and implementing a strategy that will deliver growth in line with agreed targets and providing direction to the Group and strategic support to the Head of Discipline.
Group performance - delivering operational excellence to achieve budget and delivery strategy, maximising the use of our India team.
Growth - Contributing to an overarching WSP Growth Strategy. Leading and supporting bids and undertaking prospect / bid reviews, overview and signing off proposals in accordance with our governance processes.
People - in association with the GD, undertaking talent management including talent reviews, establishing development paths, defining goals for the senior team, recruitment and succession planning.
Technical Excellence - working with the GTD to embed a culture of technical excellence and innovation; coordinating synergies with the WSP global lighting team and other parts of WSP. Promoting the importance of design quality and innovation.
Profile Raising - supporting regional, national and international business development activities through participation in external market profile raising activities and functions.
Client Relationship Management - actively building and maintaining key client relationships, Developing and embedding a client centred culture within the Discipline. Actively supporting the UK Key Client Programme.
