Job Description
What will you be doing?
The Head of Business Development plays a key role at Evelyn Partners. Reporting into the Head of Growth, this role sits on the Growth Leadership Team alongside the Heads of Marketing, Content and Digital, forming a strong and integrated business growth function. The business has ambitious client growth plans, and this role is accountable for the acceleration and successful delivery of the new client growth targets. Working closely with the Regional Managing Partners, our most senior leaders across the UK, this role will be responsible for helping develop and drive the national growth strategy of prioritised client verticals such as Entrepreneurs, Charities and Professionals. You will also help to unlock for our Financial Planning and Investment Management practitioners, a thriving ecosystem of client referral partners made up of Lawyers, Accountants and Corporate Finance professionals. With responsibility for leading the Business Development team, this role is an excellent coach with a track record of developing high performing business development teams.
This is a senior hire with expectations of a high calibre commercial leader with a passion and enthusiasm for building strong relationships and delivering business outcomes.
As head of Business Development, your responsibilities will include among others
- Ensure the delivery of the new client growth strategy and targets with special focus on driving growth across key client verticals
- Lead and develop a team of ambitious Business Development Managers across the UK
- Partner with the Regional Managing Partners in each of the three geographical regions to execute on the business' growth plans and foster strong stakeholder relationships across the business
- Devise and implement effective go-to-market strategies and in partnership with the Growth Leadership Team deliver the evolution of Evelyn Partners growth operating model
- Manage budget planning and cost controls
- Play an active role in wider function and business initiatives, to further culture, client engagement and revenue growth
- Be an ambassador for the business, externally building strong relationships across the industry ecosystem of partners and beyond
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should
- Proven track record delivering client growth with a bias for action, results oriented
- Strong people leadership capabilities, excellent stakeholder management skills, highly personable
- A forward-thinking mindset, an openness and appetite to explore new ways of doing things, an ambition to innovate and to enhance sales effectiveness, whether through technology, content creation, partnerships or distribution etc.
- A strong knowledge of client propositions, proposition development and sales enablers
Desired
- Experience in financial services or wealth management is desirable but not essential
