As Director of Children's Services, I am passionate and care about the rights and needs of all children and young people. Enabling and supporting children and young people to aspire, achieve and believe in themselves, regardless of the adversity they may have faced is the ultimate ambition and outcome I want for them. To achieve this outcome, I am equally passionate on improving services for Dudley Children and Young people. It is clear there is a real commitment from politicians, partners and staff to making a real difference to ensure that children are at the heart of everything we do. Dudley Council is committed to protecting vulnerable children and families in need of support and protection.

Catherine Driscoll, Director of Children's Service

Here at Dudley, we want to make sure that we focus on children first and place them at the heart of all we do. In order to help us achieve this, we have reshaped our whole directorate and are now looking for a Head of Adolescent Safeguarding to join our team.

We have adopted the Family Safeguarding model originally pioneered by Hertfordshire, and are keen to make best use of this multi-disciplinary approach across our wider service.

As Head of Adolescent Safeguarding, you will lead our teams working with young people and families where risk outside of the family is an additional complication; you will have responsibility for work with children who go missing; you will be our strategic lead across exploitation.

Working within a Restorative Practice model, you will be part of an energised leadership team and joining us at a time when we bring alive our new working model.

If this sounds like an exciting challenge and you would like to know more, then please contact Karen Graham, Service Director for Children's Social Care for an informal conversation ( karen.graham@dudley.gov.uk or on 01384 816628).
