Job Description
- Functions as the shift supervisor of the Linlithgow GSOC in the absence of a Duty Operations Manager.
- In conjunction with company management or designated representatives, ensures adequate coverage of all posts and positions.
- Prepares files and submits various reports as required.
- As required and in accordance with applicable company policies and procedures, carries out supervisory duties that can include some or all of the following: orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems; Observe and report, document all unusual/unsafe activity, and take appropriate action as required.
- Report all building utility/ service/ life safety issues to the appropriate responders and Security Management.
- Notify, assist and direct external emergency personnel and internal emergency response teams (ERT) as necessary on a global basis as dictated by the situation.
- Dispatch mobile or other patrol officers to check and/ or secure access areas into and onto client's premises, as well as, highly sensitive locations within the buildings.
- Dispatch mobile or other patrol officers to service calls and emergency responses
- Monitor the movements and locations of security personnel in order to expedite service requests, emergency responses and to ensure employee safety
- Answer global multi-line telephones and dispatch security personnel via means as appropriate
- Responsible for the proper operation and monitoring of all life safety, access control and loss prevention systems
- Keep and or document detailed records of activities as they occur during the shift
- Ensure acknowledgement of alarms and dispatch/assign personnel to investigate
- Initiate all emergency notification calls, including 999 or other emergency services assistance requests and possess extensive knowledge of emergency response procedures at multiple sites (potentially internationally)
- Prepare all required written reports, including but not limited to: Operations Database, Incident Reports and all other required logs
- Generate computerized incident reports
- View CCTV displays for suspicious/unusual/ hazardous activities
- Ensure response to system alarms and notifies the appropriate response resources as directed by procedure
- Responsible for the proper operation and monitoring of all security telephone, paging, radio and intercom communication systems
- Provides feedback on operating processes, team processes and procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
- Monitors media and other sites to prepare data and deliver to client.
- Participate in professional development courses and demonstrate improved job knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
Essential
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Have a five-year checkable employment history or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or full and part-time education during that period.
- Excellent customer service skills - able to communicate at all levels, demonstrate management potential.
- Problem solving skills with decisions making capability.
- Proficient in MS Office, ability to adapt to new systems.
- Professional in appearance and attitude.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity dealing with sensitive and confidential issues, be well versed in Data Protection guidelines.
- Proactive - identify and share best practice.
- The ability to embody and uphold the Securitas core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness.
- Be in possession of a current SIA security licence.
Desirable
- Experience desirable with some or all of the following - LENEL, electronic alarm systems.
- Experience of working in a Control Room environment.
- Experience of working in a Security Environment.
- Working towards or completed Securitas Silver Award.
