The role - what is it we would like you to do?

We are looking for a group accountant to join the growing finance team. The position reports to the group financial controller. The role will ideally suit someone who is a couple of years post ACA/ACCA qualified, currently working within the Big 4 who is looking for their first step out of industry, and into a financial accounting and reporting role.

Your core duties will include

  • Preparation of consolidated financial statements prepared on an IFRS basis.
  • Consolidation of the financial results for statutory reporting.
  • Financial statements of centrally controlled entities, including accounts for companies in the UK, Jersey and Cyprus.
  • Continuous review and documentation of group accounting policies and practices.
  • Preparation of the financial statements of the group's subsidiary UK entities.
  • Preparation of quarterly submissions to our Middle Eastern parent, largely through use of OneStream software.
  • Liaison with external auditors to ensure smooth delivery of audited financial statements in accordance with the group timetable.
  • Liaise with group finance teams (Americas, UK & Europe, Middle East, India and Asia Pacific) to ensure accurate and timely delivery of high-quality financial statements.
  • Training of the wider finance team to ensure that they are kept abreast of all changes in IFRS.
  • Working with the wider finance team and IT team to improve the quality, timeliness and efficiency of financial reporting.

What skills and attributes are we looking for from you:

  • This role will suit someone who is 1-2 years post qualified and ideally come out of a big 4 graduate program.
  • Experience of working within a large commercial environment, with exposure to all aspects of financial reporting and consolidations at group level.
  • Recognised professional accounting qualification.
  • The ability to review and understand financial systems and processes with a view to continuous improvement.
