Job Description
As the Group Strategy Director - Digital, Data & Technology, you will lead our group wide technology, digital and data strategy and roadmap ensuring it aligns with the organisation's goals for a growing, simpler and better-connected L&G.
Your responsibilities will include:
- To define and own L&G's technology, digital and data strategy and roadmap, emphasising innovation, digital transformation, and robust governance.
- You will develop strategies to enhance business agility, efficiency, and competitive differentiation, and partner with GMC, CTOs and Senior Leaders across the organisation to embed technology as a core enabler of the organisation's long-term objectives.
- Overview organisational transformation initiatives by embedding agile methodologies and delivery frameworks and drive a digital-first mindset across the organisation, introducing disruptive technologies that align with business goals and an understanding across all technology disciplines, but with deep expertise in AI and Data.
- Develop partnerships with fintechs, start-ups, and technology providers to foster a collaborative ecosystem of innovation. While also obtaining and evaluating information about industry and market technology and data trends.
- Establish highly effective and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across all Group Functions and business divisions, and be a trusted advisor to the Board and GMC bringing a depth of knowledge and expertise.
- Support business divisional CEOs, COOs, CTOs and senior leaders across the organisation in identifying and exploiting technological opportunities, and directing the Group CTO relationship with the PRA and FCA.
- You will also define and own the Enterprise Technology Architecture Roadmap and standards by overseeing the design and governance.
- You will build, spearhead and motivate a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- An Executive Leader with highly proficient knowledge and experience of emerging technologies (ML, DLT, cloud computing) and digital platforms with deep expertise in data and AI.
- You must have extensive experience in progressive technology leadership roles, ideally within banking, insurance, or financial services, with a proven track record of driving large-scale digital transformation and innovation initiatives in a complex, regulated environment ideally with experience of optimising IT costs and increasing value.
- You will need a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory landscapes, data protection, and technology risk management.
- You will need to demonstrate expertise in agile methodologies, change management, and organisational transformation, and a proven track record of delivering technology initiatives that drive business outcomes.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills is a must. You will must be able to demonstrate the ability to align technology strategy with executive leadership goals, and a track record of producing high impact business cases where you have built trust and credibility to secure Board, GMC buy in.
- This position demands a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to identify future trends, and the skills to drive their global adoption.
