Job Description
What will you be doing?
We're seeking a Group Procurement Manager to join our Procurement team in London, Bristol, Liverpool or Manchester for an initial 12 month fixed term contract. In this role, you'll be working closely with the Head of Procurement on all aspects of the procurement life cycle and leading on wide variety of sub-categories but with primary focus on integrating any acquired entities in a set time frame. The role necessitates collaborative working across the Procurement, M&A integration team and with wider S&W stakeholders to ensure all third-party engagements enhance commercial and operational value to the business and its clients. The role is responsible for negotiating commercial deals with suppliers with the aim to reduce cost and improve service delivery.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a fast-paced, dynamic procurement team and with a can-do attitude to see things through to completion. Actively manage supplier risk and performance to ensure continuity. The candidate will also be responsible for developing supplier relationships to ensure S&W is at the forefront of innovation.
As Group Procurement Manager, your responsibilities will include among others
- Acting as the first point of contact for allocated categories and/or M&A project(s) contractual queries and providing procurement advice
- Work as a Business Partner with key stakeholders across the Group
- Ensuring companywide procurement requirements and contract management solutions for allocated categories are managed effectively.
- Support the Head of Procurement in high-value and complex projects.
- Deputise for the Head of Procurement, as necessary, in relevant meetings and working groups.
- Work collaboratively with the Integration Workstream Leads and Project Manager(s) to identify savings.
- Manage your Procurement Pipeline and Tracker to see projects through to completion.
- Manage contract repository and master savings plan to provide consistent reporting against set targets.
- Conduct commercial and contract negotiations and implement appropriate tactics to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Owning the cradle-to-grave procurement process including ITT/RFPs, RFIs, RFQs
- Develop relationships with existing suppliers to reduce costs or provide an enhanced service whilst delivering innovation, sustainability, and benefit to the business.
- Ensuring all procurement activities undertaken are aligned with internal Procurement Policy & Procedures
- Build strong relationships and collaborate with other teams such as Legal, Data Protection and Information Security to address and mitigate third-party risks.
- Ensure all contracts meet Group policy, regulatory and industry standards.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should
- Proven experience within indirect procurement
- Experience in end-to-end strategic procurement, specifically in a fast-paced environment, with exposure to specialist categories such as Facilities, IT and Marketing
- Merger & Acquisition experience essential
- Strong knowledge of property lease and facilities contracts is desirable
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, ideally having come from a Professional Services background, however other backgrounds will also be considered
- The ability to influence and win over stakeholders
- Experience in establishing data frameworks and interpreting different data sets to consolidate is essential
- Experience in drafting and interpreting of contracts and clauses is essential
- Strong Commercial Negotiation skills
- Strong Supplier Relationship Management experience
- Sound understanding of Procurement category management
- Creating and managing complex tender and benchmarking exercises
- Leveraging eSourcing platform to run, manage and report on tendering exercises
- Able to create appropriate commercial models to suit requirements in the category
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft MS Excel and other MS Office applications
- Commercial awareness and acute business acumen are essential
- Ability to analyse data to inform effective decision making
- Self-motivated with high energy to drive for results and meet deadlines
Professional Qualifications and Education
- Educated to degree level
- MCIPS Qualified or working towards the qualification
- Prince2/APM (desirable)
