Burges Salmon are offering an opportunity for an experienced Solicitor of at least 6 years' PQE to join our leading team of specialist public inquiries, investigations, and inquests lawyers in Bristol. In this role, you can expect high quality work that has an impact on a national and international scale.

The Team

You would be joining a team of specialist investigation, inquest and public inquiry lawyers operating at the top of the market. The team is highly regarded and known for their sensitive, pragmatic and strategic approach to dealing with complex and high-profile investigations, including matters of national interest.

We are expanding our team due to an increase in instructions particularly in the area of public inquiries work. In joining Burges Salmon, you can expect to work and develop alongside market-leading experts on an enviable diet of complex and engaging public inquiries with opportunities to also be involved in inquests and investigations. Due to the firm's reputation and status, the team regularly tenders for and wins public work of the highest quality.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with others in the 100+ strong Dispute Resolution department in order to provide excellent client service across the board.

What you'll need

  • Relevant experience working on large scale public inquiries (investigation and inquest experience also considered)
  • Be a strong team player, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to manage a complex and varied workload effectively
  • Be self-motivated and willing to learn
  • Experience of leading others to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Must be a SRA or Law Society of Scotland registered lawyer
