Job Title: Group Export Control, Senior Manager

Salary: £85000 + depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead and develop export control activities and strategies within the Group Export Control function
  • Contribute to the achievement of Group business objectives by developing and implementing export control strategies that secure the Group’s ability to operate both current and future product lines, while minimising infringement risks and ensuring advantageous positions
  • Lead the provision of strategic export control support and oversight for key Group projects
  • Provide subject matter expertise to address the most complex export control challenges faced by the Group
  • Add value to the Group through active participation in the Senior Leadership Team
  • Recognised as the subject matter expert and primary contact for export control, providing specialist expertise to internal and external stakeholders and supporting the Senior Leadership Team across business lines

Your skills and experiences:

  • Experienced leader capable of guiding and supporting export control managers and specialists, while mentoring less experienced team members
  • Extensive knowledge of export control procedures and legal requirements, with the ability to structure and lead the export control function within the business
  • In-depth understanding of how export control impacts business decisions, with expertise in external best practices, industry standards, and competitor approaches
  • Solid grasp of export control and business practices across various international markets, particularly the US
  • Broad experience in export control within the defence sector or similar industries

The Export Control Team:

This role is part of the dynamic Group Export Control Team within the Legal function, offering a hybrid working arrangement with travel as required. You will be joining a highly collaborative and supportive team, where expertise and innovation in export control are key drivers. The team works closely with various business units to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. With a shared commitment to excellence, the team is passionate about navigating the complexities of international trade, all while contributing to the Group’s success and growth.
