The position
This senior IT leadership role leads the design and delivery of group-wide analytics and reporting capabilities. This role is responsible for the deployment and evolution of group-wide reporting, analytics, and AI capabilities that support the "one RES" strategy and a transition away from fragmented reporting and data practices across business units. This role is critical to unifying those efforts into a single, customer-oriented function that enables the organisation to make better decisions through timely, trusted insights.
The Group Analytics and Reporting Director will focus on driving business value from data-ensuring that AI & analytics solutions are aligned to long-term strategic priorities and operational needs. The role includes line management of the existing data management capability and acts as a bridge between the technical delivery of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and the generation of meaningful business insights and outcomes. It also supports the development of a community of practice and promotes consistent, scalable reporting across the group.
Accountabilities
Lead the group-wide reporting and analytics strategy
Design and deliver scalable reporting solutions that enable timely, trusted insights across the organisation, with a strong focus on business value and customer orientation.
Manage and develop the analytics and reporting team
Provide leadership and line management to BI analysts and data professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting career development.
Collaborate with business units to define KPIs and reporting needs
Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable dashboards and analytics that support strategic and operational decision-making.
Oversee the data management capability
Line manage the Data Engineering Manager and ensure the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) is effectively leveraged to deliver meaningful business outcomes, and long-term scalability and technical fit
Apply advanced analytics and AI techniques
Champion the use of machine learning, predictive modelling, and AI-driven insights to enhance forecasting, scenario planning, and decision support.
Promote consistency and governance in reporting
Support the implementation of data governance principles to ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and trust across the organisation. Establish and oversee data governance
Promote ownership of data domains, steward roles, and reporting standards to ensure consistency, trust, and alignment across the group.
Build and lead a community of practice
Establish and nurture a cross-functional community focused on reporting, data, and analytics to drive adoption, literacy, and continuous improvement.
Engage with global IT and business stakeholders
Collaborate across time zones and geographies, occasionally attending meetings outside core business hours to ensure alignment and responsiveness to global needs.
Demonstrate reliability and professionalism
Attend work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected, and comply with the Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
Oversee and participate as an escalation point in an IT on call rotation.
Participates in and reports on IT risk evaluation and compliance management processes.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of how data drives strategic and operational decision-making.
- Applied expertise in group reporting and analytics tools, particularly Power BI, with a focus on usability and impact.
- Expert ability gathering, influencing, and co-creating requirements and roadmaps for group-class reporting capabilities with a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Strong risk management skills identifying and mitigating risks associated with data analytics and reporting projects and systems.
- Working knowledge of data management practices, including governance, stewardship, and data warehousing.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and predictive modelling techniques, and how they can be applied to enhance business insight.
- Strong leadership capability with a proven track record of successful team development and working effectively across all organisational levels.
- Proven track record of innovation, both in internal problem solving and in fostering innovative uses of technology within the organisation.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on delivery, ensuring long-term value while meeting immediate business needs.
- Experience navigating complex organisational structures and influencing change across siloed environments.
- Comfort with ambiguity and evolving priorities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of data ethics, privacy, and compliance considerations in group analytics.
- Ability to engage and collaborate with global stakeholders across time zones, adapting communication and working styles as needed.
- Professional fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly in both languages.
