Grounds Maintenance Area Operations Manager (Cemeteries)

About The Role
Islington is looking to recruit a talented and energetic person to manage the Grounds Maintenance Services for the Islington and Camden Cemetery Service.
The post holder will be based at St Pancras and Islington Cemetery, but will be responsible for the grounds maintenance service delivery at St Pancras and Islington and West Hampstead Cemeteries. You'll be required to take accountability for assessing maintenance needs, organising and supervising staff and contractors and will work closely with the Cemeteries Operations Manager to ensure that the day to day maintenance requirements of the cemeteries are met. The successful candidate will need to have a proven track record managing Grounds Maintenance Services to high standards and levels of customer service. Previous experience delivering services in cemeteries is desirable but not essential. You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate your team to deliver a quality service.
The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate the following skill and experience:
• Be able to work closely with colleagues, staff and clients
• High level of horticultural maintenance knowledge
• Be pro-active and committed to providing an excellent service
• Have a strong customer focus
• High level of planning and organisational skills is essential
• Have a strong leadership style with a focus on supporting and developing employees
• Proven track record of dealing with customers
• Experience in similar position and capacity
• Good IT Skills
