The Role

At AMS, we're building teams that are curious, collaborative, and committed to doing great work. We're looking for a Graduate Development Advisor who enjoys learning and values teamwork.

Graduate Development Advisor manages the development of Graduates via Internships and into appropriate roles within the business in EMEA and supports the Emerging Talent Lead.

This is hybrid opportunity: 3 days/week Client office in London.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for emerging talent graduate development for the UK, which will include the management of the Off-Cycle Internship Programme, including programme design, intern management, Line Manager engagement.
  • Responsible for managing Graduate development for each of their business areas, ensuring a strong grasp on the MI details/YoY trends (such as attrition and retention) and ensuring an overall positive Graduate experience.
  • Must have strong personal skills and make judgement calls to assist with CIB diversity and inclusion targets.
  • Contribute towards the Global Graduate Induction (GGI) for CIB alongside CIB Graduate Development Advisor counterpart.
  • In tandem with the other CIB Graduate Development Advisor, responsible for ensuring a close relationship with training vendors and providers, ensuring that the curriculum and training aligns with HSBC's global CIB future skills strategy.
  • Management of the Off-Cycle Internship - ensuring the business are engaged and collaborated with, fully prepared and Line Managers trained - providing ongoing business partnering support throughout the entire programme, including determining the assessment tools used to make hiring decisions for the graduate programme at the mid-point and end-point calibrations, which you will host and calibrate with the Emerging Talent Lead and Business Committee.
  • Work with CIB Co-Ordinators and GBM Onboarding team on Graduate Programme candidate onboarding, ensuring a diligent and positive candidate journey. This will also include a Graduate Onboarding day to collect right-to-work documents.
  • Work in tandem with Development colleagues in Hong Kong and the US to ensure knowledge of global Graduate Programmes - assisting with sharing EMEA development knowledge, plans, and approaches to the hubs.
  • Manage end of year/rotation/Graduate Programme calibration sessions for Graduates in EMEA.
  • Analyse metrics and data related to YoY retention, attrition, diversity and inclusion and identify areas for improvement.

Training and Development

  • Work closely with the Graduate Recruitment Advisor to manage the workload of the Graduate Development Co-Ordinator and to ensure that all successful EMEA internship conversions have a seamless experience/introduction to the Global Graduate Programme.
  • Ensure that the Line managers are appropriately informed, equipped and trained for any graduate touchpoints, including but not limited to; Pre-Start Keep Warm engagement, Global Graduate Induction, Professional Examination dates, Compulsory Graduate Activities, Ongoing Training and Development and responsibilities as a Graduate Line Manager.
  • Share best practice with Graduate Recruitment Advisor on training and development related to the summer internship, ensuring that a clear strategy is in place for the internship training to feed into the Graduate development programme curriculum.
  • The Graduate Development Advisor will also direct the Graduate Recruitment Advisor with expertise and insights in respect of internship line manager preparation and training, external vendor training and development plans.
  • Contribute from GBM towards the support, review, design, planning and execution of the Global Group Induction.

Global and Local Communication /Team working

  • Continuously learn about HSBC's brand and culture.
  • Support and share ideas with HSBC graduate development community.
  • Develop working relationship with the business and develop line of business product. knowledge, thus continuing the professionalism and reputation of HR.

Skills & Requirements

Must have:

  • Previous experience of working in Early Careers/Campus Development is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of the current internal and external student/graduate learning and development landscape.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PPT, Teams) and Zoom.
  • Experience of HR systems / databases.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
