Job Title: Governance Analyst – Insights & Monitoring
Location: Preston; Lancashire with occasional travel. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Circa £48,500 depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:

Deliver and report on a programme of governance insights that identify and monitor key areas of financial risk

Use data analytics and dashboards to assess the effectiveness of financial controls and risk mitigation

Translate complex data into meaningful insights that support business decision-making and performance improvement
-
Identify control weaknesses, determine root causes, and support stakeholders in agreeing practical recommendations

Lead activities that support readiness for UK Corporate Reform, including reviews of systems, toolsets, and processes

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Governance Capability Centre (GCC)

Design and produce dashboards for senior stakeholders, including members of the Executive Committee

Work collaboratively across finance and governance teams to promote robust internal controls over financial reporting
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
-
Ability to analyse and interpret financial data using analytical tools to assess the effectiveness of risk mitigation controls

Highly numerate with experience gathering, cleaning, and interpreting large datasets to identify trends and provide actionable insights

Proficient in Tableau and Excel, with the ability to extract and manipulate data from complex systems
-
Experience using data analytics to support decision-making and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
Desirable

Experience using Alteryx
-
Familiarity with finance processes or financial reporting
