Global Trade Product Manager, Receivables Finance

The Role Responsibilities

  • This global role is targeted at an experience product manager within the Open Account team for Receivables Finance. The focus of this role is to deliver change and enhancements on our existing receivables product making it 'easy2bank' for both internal and external clients. Our client base is Global500 clients and MME clients in Asia. It therefore requires someone with an in-depth knowledge of new market trends as well as the product range.

General Product Management

  • Establish and maintain relationships with risk, business risk, compliance, and other relevant groups within SCB, as well as develop and ensure execution of the business strategy, and manage risk and compliance
  • Partner with other global, regional, and country leaders to share best practices and drive business strategies, solutions, and client centric solutions to differentiate SCB in the marketplace and achieve substantial growth targets for the business
  • Conduct training and workshop for internal stakeholders on Product knowledge and commercialization
  • Regular webinars and engagement with Sales, Coverage and Operations to further strengthen Trade Product knowledge including planning and driving Trade Training calendar across the region as required

  • A key area of focus for SCB is growth in the Fortune 500 / Large Multi-National Corporate client base. The role will primary be focused to expand our offering into US, Europe and China markets for this client base. In order to deliver this, we need an individual that is comfortable and experienced with this client base and can support Sales from a product standing to deliver client needs. This role requires an in-depth understanding of working capital, securitisation, and different underwriting concepts such as portfolio underwriting.
  • This role will require someone that can deliver change to product parameters and policies to ensure that we are 'product ready' for complex structures.

  • As we expand our business we will be looking for an individual that can articulate complex requirements and changes to multiple stakeholders including technical development, credit modelling and risk management teams in order to deliver our growth strategy specifically for large portfolio, securitised receivables finance facilities.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Global Product Management in International Trade (Receivables Finance and Structured Trade) with a regional or global Trade Bank. Basic exposure to documentary trade is preferable.
  • Ability to keep abreast on changes in the market, customer requirement, competitor response and the Banks ability to use information to identify new business opportunities.
  • In-Depth of understanding of financial regulation impacting International Trade Business, in particular Basel, Risk Weighted Assets etc. Proven ability to commercialize these regulatory requirements internally & towards clients in form of internal directions around operational / investment balances and positioning of same with clients.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence directly, indirectly and virtually across the SCB network.

Role Specific Competencies

  • Design and commercialisation of new products and propositions for specific sectors and markets (New Economies & Services sector) for anchors in Europe and Americas
  • Asset & Contingent Growth / Utilization & Replacement ratios to meet B/s & revenue targets: Ownership of A&C levels per trade product based on Budget and Forecast for the year
  • Monitor against budgeted revenue forecasts, highlight underperforming products / regions and devise remedial and supportive action.
  • Pricing: Establish and implement competitive and transparent pricing policies and standard pricing guidelines to maximise product profitability and shareholder value.
  • Ensure and Demonstrate that Products are Fit for Purpose / Fit for Growth and Fit for Sale
  • Production, socialisation & actions derived from product performance analytics, including execution
  • Capital and Return: RWA, RoRWA and Standard Pricing alignment
  • Active, demonstrable Ownership & execution of e2e product life cycle activities through Product Annual Assessment processes, at minimum.
  • Creation of Regional Feedback loop representing industry / client / regulatory and competitor insight to global centres of excellence within TB, GTO.
  • Competiveness and external capabilities benchmarking & communication of same to global teams
  • Digitization strategies & execution- including increasing e-penetration rate with Europe on booked and originated client base
  • Training and up-skilling of TB capabilities throughout the regional stakeholder Group and clients.
  • Communication, training & pipeline building with Sales on global value-add propositions.
  • RFP and pre-RFP support in solutioning and SME support and client engagement - not "holding the pen"
  • Create industry value propositions, with quantifiable, differentiated benefits and build pipeline and focus
  • Drive global and regional product initiatives for booked and Originated perspective for example- Export Drive, Value added trade growth campaigns etc
  • Risk (Operational, Credit, Regulatory, FCC and Conduct) - ensuring trade product in Europe meets the highest standard from a risk and conduct-based perspective
  • Ensure compliance with Product Programmes, CAs and front to back alignment with Functions to deliver compliance in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ownership of adherence to and execution of Regional Pricing policy for Trade.
  • Ownership, management and responsibility to ensure the delivery of the product to our client base is in line with operational risk, FCC and conduct frameworks.
