We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reputation and Communications professional to join our team, part of EY's global Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) function. The Assistant Director will also provide counsel throughout our global network of media relations and social media professionals around the world.
The ideal candidate has a versatile communications skillset, including experience of managing crisis issues, media relations, a track-record of advising senior stakeholders, excellent copywriting skills, and an interest in applying these skills in a fast-paced, dynamic, global environment.
The ideal candidate has sound judgment and communications advisory skills to counsel a diverse group of global stakeholders, whilst also being 'hands-on' in managing complex, cross-border issues in a fast-paced, dynamic global environment.
Your key responsibilities
- Support a team providing strategic counsel to senior management, working as an integrated member of the wider cross-functional and business leadership issues team.
- Develop and implement crisis communication strategies and plans in response to potential threats or emergencies that may impact the organization.
- Engage with media, often on complex and time sensitive issues.
- Monitor and analyse media coverage and social media activity to identify trends and developments which may impact the organization.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, public relations teams in EY member firms, and trusted external advisors.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement, including in relation to relevant policies and official guidance relating to reputation management across the organization.
- Work with a broad ecosystem of business and communications professionals to develop strategic messaging on a wide range of issues, from c-suite insights to narratives on EY services, capabilities and major organizational milestones.
To qualify for the role you must have
- Minimum 6-8 years' PR and social media experience working in-house or within an agency, with direct experience managing reputational issues and working in an international context.
- Ability to synthesize complex information quickly, and apply this to successfully create compelling, clear communications strategies
- A self-starter with a "can do" attitude and the drive to get the job done; the potential to develop within the organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- An appreciation for and flexibility in responding to the time and endurance requirements of crisis situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in social media monitoring and management tools.
