Global Head of Pricing

We are seeking a strategic, commercially minded and analytically strong Global Head of Pricing to lead the design, implementation and governance of pricing strategy across Kennedys' international business. As a global law firm with deep strength in insurance, liability defence, dispute resolution and advisory services, Kennedys requires a pricing leader who can support profitable growth across complex client portfolios, cross-border matters and major panel opportunities. This role is central to improving profitability, strengthening pricing discipline and ensuring that fee arrangements are commercially effective, competitive and aligned to client and market expectations across jurisdictions.
This is a single global opportunity, with the successful candidate able to be based in either UK or US. Kennedys is operating a hybrid working policy offering the opportunity to work from home and the office
Team
Kennedys Finance supports the firm globally through the delivery of timely, accurate financial and management information, commercial insight, reporting solutions and operational support that underpin decision-making across the business. The team plays a key role in enabling sustainable growth, improving performance and maintaining the high standard of service provided to the firm's internal and external clients.
Our Finance function includes Financial Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Business Intelligence, Business Partnering and Analytics, Procurement, Finance Systems and Financial Operations, working in partnership with practice and business services leaders across the firm's international network.
Kennedys operates across the UK, EMEA, LATAM, APAC and the US, and this role will play a key part in delivering consistent, high-quality financial operations across the firm's international office network.
Key Responsibilities
Global Pricing Strategy:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global pricing strategy aligned with the firm's business goals, market positioning and sector priorities, particularly across insurance, dispute resolution and complex advisory work.
- Work closely with regional Managing Partners, business development and client relationship teams to align pricing strategy with client priorities, market opportunities and the firm's global commercial objectives.
- Drive revenue growth and profitability through innovative pricing models, fee structures (including alternative fee arrangements), rate strategy and panel pricing approaches suited to global legal and insurance-sector clients.
Governance & Compliance:
- Establish global pricing policies, approval workflows, and guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulatory frameworks and client mandates across multiple jurisdictions.
Commercial Collaboration:
- Partner with business development, regional leadership, risk, legal and operational teams to structure client proposals and commercial arrangements, using robust pricing models and analysis to support decision-making on strategic opportunities.
- Support negotiations on complex pricing arrangements with strategic insurer, corporate and panel clients and, where appropriate, lead on rate negotiations directly with clients.
- Deliver pricing workshops and negotiation skills programs for the Partnership.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and financial performance to inform strategic decisions.
- Provide actionable commercial insight and reporting on pricing effectiveness, margin performance, client and matter profitability, and pricing-related risk across key portfolios and sectors.
- Work with the business intelligence team and client development stakeholders to further enhance client, matter and portfolio profitability reporting and dashboards across the firm.
Process & Systems Leadership:
- Oversee pricing tools, ERP integrations, and automation initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead global initiatives to embed pricing strategy into the firm's wider commercial processes, including major client pursuits, panel appointments, rate review activity and a refreshed global pitch process.
Team Leadership:
- Lead a high-performing, globally distributed team.
- Foster a culture of commercial excellence, innovation, collaboration and accountability.
Required Experience
- Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA strongly preferred.
- Extensive experience in pricing, revenue management or commercial strategy, ideally within an international law firm, insurance-focused professional services business or other complex global partnership environment.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing global pricing strategies and governance frameworks as well as the ability to balance global consistency with regional market dynamics, client expectations and sector-specific commercial drivers.
- Experience managing multi-jurisdictional fee structures, cross-border pricing considerations, panel arrangements and complex commercial terms in a legal or insurance-related context.
- Proven track record of improving profitability, pricing discipline and matter economics through data-led commercial decision-making.
- Comfortable managing global, cross-functional operations and navigating multiple time zones.
- Experience working across international markets and multi-office structures highly desirable
- Strong analytical, modelling, and commercial evaluation capabilities.
- Experience with pricing and financial systems, ERP platforms and business intelligence tools, ideally within a legal, professional services or insurance-related environment.
- Ability to translate data into clear, commercially relevant insight that supports partner, client and leadership decision-making.
- Strategic thinker with excellent executive presence and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong communicator, able to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams globally.
- Results-oriented, collaborative, and decisive, with experience leading global teams.
