Are you a passionate about the international student journey? Leeds Beckett University is seeking a Global Engagement Manager to spearhead our efforts in fostering a world-class international student experience.
You will lead our Global Engagement team, bridging the gap between strategic international mobility and student wellbeing. You won't just manage processes; you will shape the global culture of our university, ensuring every international student feels supported from the moment they arrive until they graduate.
Key Responsibilities include:
• The Global Welcome: Lead our flagship 'Global Arrival' and 'Global Village' initiatives, ensuring a seamless transition for all international students.
• Engagement & Retention: Collaborate with Student Immigration Advice and Compliance, and Student Services to drive industry-leading rates of engagement and attendance.
• Grant Management: Take the lead on the application and management of vital funding streams, including Turing Scheme and Erasmus+ frameworks.
• Academic Partnership: Work directly with Academic Schools to expand Global Engagement activity, including study abroad through Turing and Erasmus+ schemes, collaborative online international learning (COIL) and developing school-specific mobility opportunities with our Transnational Education (TNE) partners worldwide.
We are looking for a dynamic leader who has the following attributes:
• Proven Leadership: Experience managing diverse teams within a Higher Education or international context.
• Strategic Mindset: The ability to interpret complex visa compliance requirements and turn them into supportive student-facing policies.
• Financial Acumen: Experience managing large-scale grants (Turing/Erasmus) and complex budgets.
• Cultural Competency: A deep understanding of the challenges facing international students today and a commitment to improving their outcomes.
• Communication Skills: The ability to influence senior academic stakeholders and inspire confidence in international partners.
