The role...
The Legal & Business Affairs team has an opportunity to recruit a Global Data Privacy Programme Manager as a key senior member of the Group Data Privacy team on a permanent basis. You will work closely with the DPO and legal, business, data and technology colleagues across the company. The Global Data Privacy Programme Manager will be the lead role responsible for overall operational delivery, monitoring and continual improvement of ITV's data protection compliance programme and initiatives along with line management of the Group Data Privacy team compliance staff.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead on the data protection compliance operations across our UK and global businesses operating in the EEA and other regions. The ideal candidate will have a proven operational track record of implementing and managing data privacy or information compliance programmes in a company that operates in the UK and multiple jurisdictions.
Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for leading and effective delivery of data privacy compliance initiatives across ITV's businesses (including Media and Entertainment, ITV Studios and core Group business functions);
- Identifying and prioritising data protection compliance initiatives to demonstrate tangible benefits and achieve better understanding of compliance risks to the business;
- Overseeing the management and maintenance of ITV's (and its group companies') Records of Processing Activities;
- Responsible for reviewing and refining compliance documentation, templates, and processes for privacy evaluations (including DPIAs) and tracking of new/high risk processing activities;
- Overseeing and determining the schedule for annual review of ITV's Data Privacy Compliance documentation including policies, notices, procedures and data protection guidance materials;
- Responsible for maintenance of systems and processes and ensuring timely responses to data subject access requests and complaints;
- Prepare and communicate status, issues, and key decisions of ITV's data privacy compliance program to the DPO, Executive Management, committees and, working or strategy groups;
- Ensure successful delivery of data privacy compliance projects utilising core project management disciplines and work with key business stakeholders as part of ITV efficiencies programme to improve the operating model for data protection compliance;
- Regularly review or audit data protection practices within the business and provide recommendations.
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)...
- A number of years of significant and demonstrable data privacy or information compliance programme experience and/or legal experience in-house, at a privacy regulator, or law firm
- Recognised professional qualification in one or more of the following disciplines: Law, Project Management or Information Management
- Privacy Certification from the IAPP, BCS qualification in Data Protection/GDPR or Information Management is desirable.
Other things we're looking for (key criteria)...
- Substantial subject matter expertise in data privacy, rules, regulations, and industry standards, including sound working knowledge of UK and EU GDPRs as well as expertise in privacy risk and compliance management;
- Experienced in the capture, development and publishing of key performance and other information to prepare regular reports to Executive Management and Management Boards;
- Ability to balance regulatory compliance requirement advice with commercial and practical operational needs.
- Ability to build business relationships with the capacity to influence and convince;
- Ability to work independently, and collaboratively, and effectively manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously;
- Experience of managing people and teams;
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and provide practical operational solutions;
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment, as part of a small team and with key cross-functional business partners.
