Diageo's Procurement structure is a mixture of above-market resources focused on developing world class category strategies and in-market Procurement resources focused on excellence in execution of category strategies and supplier performance management.

About the Role
This role will be a part of the Global Raw Materials Team reporting directly to the Global Category Director, Raw Materials & Manufacturing Services and CAPEX.
The role is focused on Global Sugar, Flavours & Enzymes strategy development with a portfolio spend across the categories c$250m p.a.
You will be responsible for partnering with a diverse set of key stakeholder relationships across Sustainability, Finance, Brand, Innovation, Technical and both Regional & Global Procurement. In addition, this role interfaces with a broad range of external suppliers and industry bodies.
Primary focus for the role in on strategy development but will also have a significant focus on execution e.g. large scale or multi-market sourcing activity; implementation of global or pan-regional contracts & supplier collaboration and innovation.
You will play a leading role in executing the Sugar, Flavours & Enzymes strategy as it relates to Diageo's 2030 Spirit of Progress ambition. You will also lead the identification and management of all risks associated across the Sugar, Flavours & Enzymes portfolio.
In addition, you will ensure all compliance and GAR processes are followed, tracked and reported on.
Experience, Skills & Capabilities Required
- Extensive procurement experience preferably within Raw Materials.
- Excellent data, analytics, and insight skills.
- Excellent understanding of the category management process including Category Strategy development.
- Demonstrated performance when both leading and working on programs with global cross-functional teams, experience in executing programs aligned to category and Procurement strategies.
- Experienced negotiator, capable of delivering great outcomes when managing high value & complex programs.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic manufacturing processes and material supply chains desirable.
- Strong analytical and financial awareness including an understanding of Total Cost of Ownership and end to end value delivery. Use of advanced data and analytics (cost modelling & projection) to drive best in class strategies and negotiation plans beneficial.
- Track record of generating insights to influence decision-making; good commercial acumen.
- Ability in leading Supplier Collaboration/Supplier Relationship Management programmes desirable.
- Member of professional procurement bodies e.g. CIPS preferred
