At BAM, we have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Geotechnical Contracts Manager to lead our geotechnical operations across Scotland. This key role will involve building and maintaining strong, customer-focused relationships, growing and leading a high-performing regional team, and ensuring the safe and successful delivery of regulated geotechnical projects.

Your work environment
- Based from Kilsyth, Scotland with frequent visits to clients/sites across Scotland as well as occasional visits/interaction with peers across the UK.

Your mission
- Promote and foster relationships with key clients across the region.
- Accountable for the delivery of safely executed, profitable and high-quality geotechnical schemes.
- Regularly inform the operations manager of potential problems, strategic options, and future work opportunities for all areas under your control.
- Provide operational, strategic, contractual and technical advice and or service to bid preparation and project management
- Mentor project teams in the timely delivery of realistic and robust cost forecasts for monthly and quarterly financial reporting
- Provide operational, strategic, contractual and technical advice and/or service to bid preparation and project management.
- Establish and promote best practice in health, safety, sustainability, cost, time, buildability and appropriate quality matters.
- Adopt a consistent approach to cost management and control in liaison with commercial management, ensuring that resources are available to support implement on projects under your control.
- Mentor project teams in the timely delivery of realistic and robust cost forecasts for monthly and quarterly financial reporting
- Lead the acquisition, preparation and review of designated tenders and prequalification submissions to successful outcomes.
Assist in the acquisition, preparation and review of designated tenders, with particular reference to planning, methodology and design. - Review, in liaison with the commercial management and buying departments, any major subcontracts and supplier terms prior to placing orders in order to minimise exposure to risk and maximise opportunities for strong supply chain performance.
- Keep the operations manager informed of potential problems, strategic options and future work opportunities for all areas under your control.
- Take responsibility for assigning staff resources to projects, tenders and other activities under your control and for their onward transfer upon completion.
- Lead and manage all staff and personnel assigned to you, working with the HR department and others, to manage the deployment and re-deployment of staff and personnel.
Who are we looking for?
- Professionally qualified and Chartered Civil Engineer
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical and engineering geological processes and design
- Substantial experience of managing projects, budgets and resources
- Substantial experience in major assignments for a range of Clients in various construction market sectors
- Proven track record in client management
- Able to clearly communicate strategy and operational plan to their regional team
- Able to lead and develop others in their career
