Role Purpose:

This is an exciting opportunity for a high energy Sourcing Manager to join our growing procurement team to help design and implement the sustainable procurement strategy and processes for the National Lottery for the next 10 years, in line with Allwyn's Social Value framework, as we start to build relationships with new and existing National Lottery suppliers.

  • Using your procurement experience, and leveraging your knowledge, you will work directly with the Marketing, Corporate Affairs, HR, Professional Services, Retail & Business Operations, FM, Commercial/Product teams at all levels of Allwyn. In this role, you will be expected to develop & deliver an effective procurement strategy and conduct activities such as RFP's, effective negotiations of commercials & agreements, and ongoing vendor management to deliver continuous savings, performance & process improvement for the above categories.
  • Act as a trusted adviser, and subject matter expert, leading Marketing, Corporate Affairs, HR, Professional Services, Retail & Business Operations, FM, Commercial/Product teams sourcing and procurement projects. These projects often involve working across multiple products
  • Lead and own a full range of projects from transactional to complex, spanning all types of categories across Allwyn
  • For individual procurement projects build, communicate, and implement work plans and timelines. Identify the required supporting efforts, dependencies, or barriers, as well as track and report on progress/issues
  • Deliver sustainable value by leading negotiations with vendors on the scope of work, commercials & contract, which will involve working with legal, finance, tax and other internal departments
  • Be a strategic partner to Marketing, Corporate Affairs, HR, Professional Services, Retail & Business Operations, FM, Commercial/Product teams throughout the sourcing process
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships to maximize value and to deliver a best-in-class supply chain across multiple spend categories
  • Partner with Marketing, Corporate Affairs, HR, Professional Services, Retail & Business Operations, FM, Commercial/Product teams to build, moderate to complex service requirements and scope, assist with identifying vendors, manage the entire RFx process, provide vendor evaluation framework and recommendations on vendor selection

The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple time sensitive requests, effectively engage stakeholders within all levels of management, including executive leadership and efficiently ensure the sustainable sourcing process is completed consistently with Allwyn UK policies and goals.

This includes driving procurement compliance, managing commercial risk, delivering fair costs for the organization, negotiating regional agreements including prices and terms, and integrating sustainability within the supply chain.

The jobholder should be able to embrace ambiguity, meanwhile generating close collaboration across teams and constantly evolving sustainable procurement approaches that fully address procurement challenges and solve complex business problems.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Understand and capture the detailed requirements of each business objective, requiring third party contracting
  • Source third parties who can meet the requirements, and conduct initial research to create a short list
  • Run the RFP process, co-ordinating supplier pitches, with the right internal stakeholders
  • Follow process outlines by procurement and supply procurement team with the relevant data and detail to meet internal governance requirements
  • Work cross functionally to ensure all relevant stakeholders feed in requirements and are part of the selection
  • Understand the process to extend or novate a contract
  • Work to award and appoint new suppliers
  • Contract negotiations and drafting of commercial terms alongside Legal
  • You will also support the Social Value team in maintaining a positive and collaborative culture across the wider team
  • Continually assess and promote sustainable and responsible procurement, in line with Allwyn's Social Value framework, including social, cultural and diversity values in the organisation and throughout the supply chain

Key Measures of Success:

  • Implementation of contracts on Allwyn terms
  • Service Level Agreement (SLA) on building RFPs
  • Cost avoidance during tactical sourcing / spot buys
  • Contribution to cost reduction targets and avoidance
  • Positive stakeholder relationship management
  • Adherence to the company social value framework

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in indirect and direct procurement environments in a buyer or category management role
  • Enthusiasm in sharing expertise and experience with other within your own discipline
  • Experience in selecting, onboarding, and managing suppliers
  • Experience of drafting, negotiating, and managing supplier agreements within FM, Operations, Retail categories
  • Understanding sustainable procurement best practices and how to embed this into the sourcing process
  • Excellent relationship management skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with senior management
  • Extremely customer-focused, taking the time to understand the needs of the business
  • Strong ability to influence others with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and collaborative individual with a curious and driven approach
  • Flexible working approach, and open to exploring categories outside of outlined remit should the opportunity arise
  • Basic understanding of sustainable procurement best practices and how to embed this into the sourcing process

As part of our onboarding processes, all successful candidates will need to complete both a Pre-Employment Screening process and a Fit & Proper check by the Gambling Commission. These checks include a DBS (an enhanced check, which shows convictions and conditional cautions), credit and social media checks. As part of our application process, you will be asked to identify in advance if you have spent or unspent convictions that we need to be aware of.

Should you not disclose convictions at the application stage, not pass the Fit & Proper Check process or not complete your Pre-Employment Screening then unfortunately you may not pass our probation process.
