Your Purpose
The General Manager is fully accountable for driving the sustainable growth and profit across all categories in Scotland comprising of approximately 85 stores. The role will be responsibility for driving the commercials for the region as well as helping to support the people agenda and creating a culture of Partnership.
This role is part of the Optics Retail Leadership Team and also offers day to day functional support for the Audiology and Domiciliary business teams. The GM will work closely with the wider Retail Support Teams (RST) to ensure a multi-category focus across the store partnership is achieved.
Your Role
- Creates open and respected relationships where all partners support the agenda and priorities for the division.
- Works cross-functionally to create a pipeline of future partners through internal development and external attraction.
- Creates a culture that ensures Specsavers is a great place to work.
- Creates and enables a performance culture that strives for improvement across the region through sharing best practise, facing into challenges and leading through change.
- Leads an agile and talented team, focusing on development and succession of both direct leadership and matrix working teams.
- Develops and delivers against a divisional plan that ensures the strategic goals of the organisation are being met whilst driving growth, profit, and service.
- Ensures delivery of the annual plan initiatives within division whilst supporting other business units to ensure that sustainable change is realised.
- Innovation and projects are developed and implemented brilliantly first time.
What you'll bring
- Extensive commercial and operation experience in driving business performance
- Expertise in large multi-site, senior leadership roles.
- Has proven experience in operations in optics and audiology or other significant customer facing operation.
- Strong coaching and facilitation skills.
- Is a strong, confident communicator.
- A proven history in influencing at all levels both internally and externally.
- Ability to quickly build strong, credible relationships.
- Excellent presentation skills particularly in delivering to large audiences.
- Experience of creating and managing department budget and demonstrate commercial ability to identify and implement areas for cost saving.
