About Us
Petair UK, part of IVC Evidensia, is a market-leading provider of pet relocation services. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to join our team, working across both our Tarby and Dorset locations. This is a critical leadership role that will oversee the operational efficiency, growth, and overall success of the business, working closely with the Managing Director.
The Role
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company, providing strategic leadership, driving business growth, and fostering a high-performing, motivated team. You will be the key point of communication between departments and will ensure smooth, effective operations that align with our company goals.
Hours
The hours are full time 40 hours per week predominantly Monday-Friday (between 9am-5pm) however on occasion there is an element of OOH work whereby you may need to be contacted outside of these hours.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management: Provide strong, supportive leadership to management and staff, handling high-level HR and people management issues to foster engagement and retention.
Business Growth: Identify and seize new business opportunities, building lasting relationships with airlines, agents, and corporate partners.
Operational Oversight: Monitor all business areas, ensuring processes run efficiently and align with company policies and future strategies.
Crisis Management: Manage the most complex customer service issues, including high-stakes compensation claims.
Communication: Act as a key liaison between the Managing Director and the management team, ensuring goals are clear and aligned across the company.
HR & Staff Development: Oversee recruitment, performance evaluations, and professional development systems to create a supportive and high-performing workplace.
Marketing & Advertising: Lead marketing initiatives, including social media and advertising strategies, to enhance the company's market presence.
Task Delegation: Set clear goals, delegate effectively, and assess performance to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.
Travel: Represent the company at industry events and business meetings, maintaining and building valuable partnerships.
Skills & Qualifications
Proven leadership and people management experience, strong commercial awareness and a track record of driving business growth, exceptional organisational, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills, solid HR experience, including recruitment, training, and conflict resolution, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to innovate and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
