The July is on the hunt for an authentic General Manager to lead our newest addition: a premium apartment-hotel and restaurant in the heart of London, Victoria scheduled to open in June 2025. The location will be a sustainable city oasis with 114 rooms for all types of travelers, plus two residential apartments. A restaurant, bar, and deli will serve neighbors and guests, keeping our spaces vibrant around the clock.

The July is a premium hospitality brand that's bringing the human touch to the way people travel. We are a group of apartment-hotels driven by delivering the best experience the world has ever seen, for guests staying one night or one year.

From Amsterdam to the world! Together with our shareholders APG and Aware Super, we are implementing our strategy of international growth as owner-operator. Our teams have the ambitious goal to develop multiple new apartment-hotels across prime European cities like London, Dublin, Paris, Lisbon and Barcelona. Each location has the local stories and spirit interwoven throughout the apartment-hotel's distinctive design.

The job

As the General Manager you will manage all aspects of the aparthotel and restaurant operations. The pre-opening phase is an exciting opportunity to shape the foundation of your operation. You will embrace our open and positive culture with a focus on continuous improvement. Actively reporting to and collaborating with the HQ of The July, you will use innovation and creativity to evolve existing operations and optimize the guest experience, which will drive strong financial results. As a hands-on leader, you'll inspire and guide the team by example, creating positive impact to our team and guests and a vibrant and supportive community where everyone thrives together.

Your responsibilities will include managing the profit and loss performance (P&L) with a focus to optimize results by monitoring financial performance and setting and achieving targets. Your goal is to enhance the brand proposition by sharing best practices in guest experience and team engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences and uphold a 'The July' vibe. We genuinely care about our guests and each other, believing in making a positive impact every day.
  • Being the location ambassador to the city of London and to the neighborhood.
  • Ensure delivery of an effective and successful opening of the hotel.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, be a presence on the floor, engaging with both guests and your team.
  • Lead and mentor your team, optimizing team engagement and focusing on their continuous development.
  • Optimize guest experience and financial performance and achievement of targets.
  • Ensure our positive impact strategy (ESG) is integrated into the daily hotel operations.
  • Create an optimal communication and work atmosphere, safeguarding the company culture and core values.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hotel regulations, ensuring a safe environment for guests and the team.

We are looking for:

  • A charismatic personality ready for the next step.
  • A leader who knows how to bring out the best in their team.
  • A role model focused on innovation and optimizing the guest journey.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset: you act proactively and think in terms of possibilities.
  • 5 to 10 years of senior managerial experience in the hotel industry.
  • Available to start from December 2024 or January 2025.
