We have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager working within our Retail sector, who's primary responsibility is to take full leadership, operational and financial responsibility for managing a safe, efficient, and profitable site for the organization and the customer.

We make promises to our customers, and we'll make promises to you too. The key responsibilities in this role include;

  • Define the site KPIs to be achieved this year and next year, and develop plans to achieve these goals.
  • Ensure the site health and safety risks are analysed and understood and actions are in place to reduce or eliminate these risks, taking personal accountability for any risk mitigation project with a multi year target completion time.
  • Maintain processes and required statutory qualifications to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and local legal obligations.
  • Lead commercial reviews with the customer (growth and renewal) and develop customer relationships year-on-year to ensure customer retention and loyalty.
  • Lead the overall approach to resource planning and management, direct reports are recruited, assessed, trained and resources are planned to meet the forecasted volume and managed to achieve optimum performance within budget and the organisational structure is lean and efficient.
  • Accountable for the overall multi year performance of the site, including achievement of agreed customer KPIs, delivering site budget, financial results and other internal KPIs (eg. safety, operational, employee related etc).

  • Previous Retail Supply Chain experience, with knowledge of the retail sector, customer trends and needs.
  • Excellent operational knowledge and understanding of specific customer, systems, and procedures.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide the budgetary and financial controls and be able to operate effectively in an "Open Book" environment.
  • Manages business through effective use of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Competent in developing, reviewing, and reporting budgets. Responsible for achieving profit targets.
