£44,824.00 per annum

South West Norse is a specialist service provider to a growing number of public and private sector clients, delivering support to businesses across catering, cleaning and facilities management disciplines.

We have an excellent new opportunity for a FM Operations Manager to lead our facilities management operations across Devon. This position is based in Exeter, working 40 hours a week (Monday - Friday).

As our Operations Manager, you will ensure development and delivery of business strategies consistent with business performances, delivery objectives, legislative requirements, and best practice. You will be accountable for leading and motivating site-based teams and the FM management team, setting out and utilising labour to best effect, for quality of work and team skill capability such that team schedules can be achieved effectively.

Duties will include:

  • Lead, coordinate, integrate and manage a department consisting of several units such that resources of appropriate quality (people, financial or assets) are identified, and developed to meet strategies, standards, and requirements.
  • Formulate and execute strategies, policies, plans, and approaches for the FM service, ensuring the necessary resources are in place to effectively meet the agreed targets and objectives.
  • Ensure planning and budgeting systems are accurate for timelines, financial forecasts, and resource planning.
  • Manage subcontractors on site and ensure control of work and compliance with HSE requirements for small works, projects and facility, estate, and property maintenance activities.
  • Ensure facility and property strategies, policies and plans are developed and implemented across the FM service consistent with our clients' requirements, statutory requirements, and best practice.

Our Successful Candidate

The role requires a broad and deep knowledge and understanding of property and facility matters, is a source of expertise within the business, providing guidance and advice to senior managers.

We are therefore looking for you to demonstrate:

  • Previous knowledge and experience of hard and soft FM service delivery
  • Conversant with Health and safety legislation
  • Extensive experience of managing multi-site, multi disciple teams
  • Leadership Qualities - able to motivate and lead others in order to reach both local and organisational goals.
  • Commercially aware with financial and budgetary experience
  • Experience of procurement of subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Shows awareness of goals and standards, follows through to ensure that quality and productivity standards are met.
  • Able to prioritise workload under pressure.
  • Full UK Drivers Licence to meet the travel requirements of the role
