Job title: Flight Systems Clearance Lead

Salary: £47,683-£52,426 (depending on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing effective management and control of Clearance activities and representation at multiple levels to provide status and guidance
- Working effectively as a team member within a team of engineers with minimum supervision and awareness of the business drivers in respect of cost, quality and programme schedule
- Responsibility for managing a team of direct reports across multiple sites
- Developing all Flight Systems deliverables to an agreed standard using procedures and specified tools to maintain product quality during development
- Communicating effectively, identifying early potential risks, seeking clarification and providing feedback to the team leader
- Working with vendors, customers, military officers and government civil servants at high levels
- Ensuring that a good working knowledge of Flight Systems related processes and product deliverables is maintained
- Participating in continuous process improvement
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Engineering Degree, HND or equivalent, with broad Flight Systems or related engineering experience
- Confident use of Microsoft tools and other datasets
- A sound understanding of the engineering principles in the design of equipment and systems
- A broad knowledge of Agile principles and Jira software applications
- Experience with processes and activities associated with Lifecycle Management
- Practical experience of products and knowledge in one or more of the following critical platform systems: Crew (Crew Escape Systems, Life Support Systems, Aircrew Equipment), Fluids (Fuel/ECS), Mechanical Systems (actuation systems, propulsion systems) and Electrical Power Generation Systems
Desirable:
- Registered as a Chartered Engineer (or working towards)

Flight Systems In-Service Aircraft team:
The Flight Systems In-Service team is a multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled Engineers responsible for the design, specification, development, testing, safety and through-life support of the aircraft mechanical and electrical generation systems. The team also provides support to new business proposals as well as close working with, and management of, specialist suppliers of components for aircraft systems and their associated support equipment.
The team has significant experience in working on multiple projects within the Air Sector such as Typhoon, Hawk, T45, Harrier, Tornado and F-35. We have great opportunities for Engineers to join this team in a demanding environment where a varied scope of tasks exist covering a number of aircraft systems throughout the engineering lifecycle
