Fleet Manager

The Fleet Manager will act as a pivotal member of the Fleet Maintenance Team to ensure legal, industry, regulatory and company procedural compliance. The Fleet Manager will work directly with operational and support teams to ensure the CMG Fleet repair solutions and maintenance are delivered to company expectations as well as being sustainable and supportable. You will play a key role in managing our fleet operations, ensuring compliance, cost efficiency and operational effectiveness. This role involves overseeing fleet maintenance, liaising with service providers, suppliers and internal workshop, along with supporting the transport teams to ensure vehicle availability and optimal performance.

Reporting Lines and Key Relationships: The role reports into the Operations Director and will work alongside the Workshop Manager, Transport Managers and Compliance Manager.

Key relationships will include the Operation and Compliance Managers and a close working relationship with the workshop administrator as a main maintenance resource.

Duties

Health and Safety:
• Promote and ensure a positive health and safety culture within the workplace.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety obligations and company policies.
• Report safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents, and incidents promptly to enable thorough investigation and prevention of reoccurrence.
• Provide technical support in accident/incident investigations.

Compliance:

Ensure full compliance with the company O licence through:
• Timely servicing of vehicles, booking vehicles in for Inspection and MOT using external or internal resources as available.
• Effective defect reporting and management, arranging vehicles for defect rectification using external or internal resources as available.
• Maintaining a high MOT pass rate. Investigating MOT Failures and producing reports
• Reviewing and ensuring compliance with R&M agreements.
• Ensure the company's Earned Recognition Maintenance KPI's are closely monitored and adhered to. Produce reports for triggers where necessary.
• Monitoring and managing tyre supplier performance.
• Ensure all compliance paperwork is filed accurately and securely in line with General Data Protection Regulations.

- Including building and maintaining international packs
• Onboarding of new vehicles and offboarding of vehicles sold.
• To report to the department Director monthly for a report to be produced for the board meeting.
• To work with the CMG Workshop Administrator to ensure all records are kept up to date
• To work alongside the CMG Workshop Manager, Transport Manager & Support Services Manager
• Work in conjunction with Transport Managers to achieve a reduction in vehicle damage and cost.
• To work with the operational directors and managers of the business to ensure a good service level can be maintained when considering fleet availability.
• To work with current suppliers to achieve:

o Fair labour rates (good value for money)

o Look at ways of reducing operational fleet costs

o Reasonable parts prices with good discounts

o Good working relationships with good service levels

Fleet Strategy:
• Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance of the fleet, resolving technical issues, troubleshooting problems, delivering value for money (cost savings), and ensuring the smooth operation of the fleet and related services.
• Review vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules, maintaining accurate records of vehicle inspections and services. In house and external implement more oil changes ETC around MOT dates
• Conduct thorough vendor audits, DVSA reportable investigations, and weekly/monthly fleet damage reporting.

Teamwork
• To work with CMG management team to ensure all CMG process are followed and developed accordingly.
• Work collaboratively to quickly resolve issues which can cause significant impact to the business
• To share documentation and training to all relevant teams to ensure effective knowledge transfer
• To assist in the training of the R2C system correctly and monitor its usage, taking remedial action to address any issues.
• To demonstrate a cohesive approach and communicate confidently at the highest level to build meaningful external and internal relationships
• Communicate effectively with repairers, customers, management, and internal teams, ensuring all Department Managers are appropriately aware of developments, progress, and changes that may impact the business.
• To develop and maintain a harmonious, effective working environment with team members within all areas of CMG

Preferred Skills
• Good working knowledge of Office Applications including Outlook and Excel
• EngTech Qualification and or Engineering Qualification (City & Guilds Parts 1-3)
• LGV Licence
• Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage or Fleet/Transport Manager International.
• Excellent knowledge of parts, spend cost, and labour hours.
• Good analytical and numerical skills.

Due to the nature of our works you will be required to undergo Police Vetting

This role is Monday to Friday 45 hours per week with 30 minutes unpaid break. (Between 07.30am to 18:00pm as is required to complete role)
