Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Any 5 from 7. 06:30-14:30 / 14:30-22:30 Weekly Rotation
Location: Heywood - OL10 2TA

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a First Line Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods and dispatching orders.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

  • Accountable for the delivery of all aspects of the shift operation, ensuring an efficient and customer focused service to all customers on site
  • Plan and manage operational resources, effectively optimising resource and equiment to effectively manage forecasted volumes
  • Address any customer concerns immediately and ensure all communications to customers are completed accurately, in a timely manner and to the agreed format
  • Manage team performance includng team building and development through succession planning, performance reviews and all disciplinary, grievance and absence issues in line with DHL HR Policy

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

  • Previous and practical experience in a supervisory role within a logistics environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain practices
  • Previous experience of preparation and distribution of volume orders
  • Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to supervise, organise and train direct reports

A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be well-received.
