We are looking for:

We are seeking a talented Financial Reporting Manager who will be the financial reporting lead for PUK (Hoddesdon, Rushden, Cardiff). You will produce all month-end reports, develop the reporting content and improve the accuracy, to support the needs of senior management and other recipients of the reports. Additionally, you will assist with month-end, year-end processes as and when required.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Overall lead for the financial reporting process for PUK.
  • Produce the periodic financial reports of the business providing all relevant/required content and insightful commentary, as identified/requested by key stakeholders and other recipients of those reports.
  • To lead with income statement narratives and finance pack narratives.
  • Review and critique any report commentaries provided by other members of the Finance team and to provide support/guidance to other team members to improve the information being reported by them.
  • Communicate with key stake holders to develop and revise report content to meet the continually changing needs of the PUK business and Pharmaron Group.
  • Ensure that Finance reports are presented in a format that is valued and helpful for the various target audiences. Ensure a focus on process improvements to achieve methods efficiency and information clarity.
  • Provide ad hoc financial reporting information as required, including to operational management.
  • To review and ensure the accuracy, integrity and completeness of source information used in the financial reports, providing reconciliation to information provided by BD and Operations and explanation of differences between the different information sources
  • Liaise with operational and project teams to ensure that Finance is aware of current operational priorities, activities and information to be included within the financial reports.

Month end

  • Prepare the intercompany reconciliation, agree with counter parties and submit to Group.
  • Prepare and upload the month end reporting to Group deadlines.
  • Review the various figures included within the financial reports and provide feedback to other Finance team members so that they can ensure the accuracy and completeness of monthly accounts and other financial reporting information.

Other

  • Provide Management support, guidance and direction to those members of the PUK Finance team who are direct reports.
  • To perform such tasks as from time to time may be required.

Requirements:

  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA)
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a fast-paced finance department
  • Proficient in ERP systems, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and MS Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to explain finance to non-finance personnel and communicate effectively at all levels within a large organisation

Additional position requirements

  • The job holder will be required to operate Access Dimensions and Focal Point for which proficiency is required or can be attained quickly (training on these systems will be provided).
  • The role requires meticulous attention to detail and for all work to be conducted strictly in accordance with company Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Work efficiently and tidily such that work is carried out in a well-planned and organised way and timely manner.
  • Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements that are defined on work instructions or communicated in training.
  • Responsible to maintain own training file.
  • Ensure that any operating practice or instrument defect, which may affect safety at work, is brought to the attention of Management.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information obtained in the course of duties performed and refrain from disclosing such information without written consent from Management, except where disclosure is required by law or by the order of a Court.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Access Dimensions or other ERP systems
  • Experience in revenue accounting

The Hoddesdon site has state-of-the-art Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard facilities for the development of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), Formulation Development (FD) and Process Chemistry (PC).
