Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week - Mon to Fri

What you'll do

Vodafone UK is transforming its approach to financial crime oversight into a fit-for-purpose 3 lines-of-defence (3LOD) model. The Financial Crime Manager (Trade Control and Economic Sanctions) will play a crucial role in embedding the agreed ways of working, ensuring that financial crime and trade control processes and oversight are effectively implemented across the 2nd line of defence (2LoD).

Initial period includes ensuring the transition of relevant customs activity out of the Vodafone's Financial Crime, Trade and Customs team to an agreed recipient within the Vodafone Group.

Ensure adequate mapping of customs and trade responsibilities is agreed with all stakeholders to enable the transition of customs outside of Vodafone to continue.

For UK related customs activity, post migration, ensure adequate oversight of the relationship with all third parties conducting activity on Vodafone Limited behalf.

Ensure relevant management information is received on the customs operations, identify, and take action where required to maintain compliance with all customs requirements.

To support the Lead Financial Crime Manager in designing and implementing a fit for purpose operational model to support the effective management of financial crime risk & compliance, and the associated policy and governance lifecycle across Vodafone UK, including horizon scanning.

Establish and maintain a constructive and appropriate dialogue with the relevant regulators, including HMRC, the NCA, the FCA and others ensure that any regulatory activities, i.e., reporting obligations.

Work across the business and Group, engaging with pragmatic collaboration to find compliant solutions to business problems regarding financial crime and trade control regulatory/policy compliance.

Lead Vodafone UK activity to ensure the delivery of the relevant financial crime and trade control frameworks.

Ensure effective governance and reporting is in place, including regular KPIs/KRIs, the MLRO annual report and other reporting and ensure escalation of issues to Risk & Compliance Committee via the Lead Financial Crime Manager/Senior Compliance & Financial Crime Advice Manager.

Leadership of Vodafone UK reporting annual risk assessment activity across all core financial crime compliance disciplines, and the onward reporting of outcomes to Senior Leadership and Vodafone Group.

Design strategy and content for and deliver training across the business covering key topics within the financial crime and trade control remit, with support from HR.

Lead the strategy for stakeholder communications at all levels across Vodafone UK and Vodafone Group, ensuring that key stakeholder relationships are maintained positively, and ensuring a strong awareness and understanding of financial crime compliance delivery requirements, strategy and objectives.

Who you are
• Experience working in a similar role in Financial Services, at Manager level, withing a financial crime/compliance discipline.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Experience of writing policies, briefing papers, and reports, attending committees, and supporting senior management.
• Experience of dealing with regulators and other external bodies in the financial crime compliance space as well as regulatory policy and legislation.
• Advanced stakeholder management is essential - experience and ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage sensitive discussions is a necessary skill.
• A willingness to learn, work at a fast pace in a changing environment, positive outlook, and an appetite to succeed.
• Delivery focused, ability to work effectively at pace with experience leading cross-function delivery projects.
• Must be able to think and act in the wider risk context rather than just "tick box" compliance.
• FCA/AML qualifications desirable but not essential
