We currently have an opportunity for a Financial Accounting Manager to join our team based in Exeter. Joining us on a full-time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £60,000 - £70,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.

About the role

As our Financial Accounting Manager, you will report to the Head of Financial Control, Reporting and Accounting, and you will provide further depth and experience to the Group's financial reporting and control functions and as the Group expands its energy generation capabilities.

You will also complete the Pennon Power Group and Pennon Group PLC reporting packs for the half year and full year results and as and when directed. You will also be able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders within the Group.

This will be an exciting time to join our Finance team, with the expansion of Pennon Power this new role has been created to provide further depth and experience to the Group Financial reporting and control functions. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in Accounting for Energy Generation and worked within a group accounting function.

What you'll be doing:

• Responsible for production of the monthly actuals reporting for Pennon Power and Pennon Group plc company.
• Assist in the preparation of Group consolidated statutory accounts on a half year and full year basis as applicable.
• Support the Head of Finance Control, Reporting & Accounting in producing necessary board papers on financial reporting and technical accounting issues.
• Main point of contact with external auditors for Pennon Power audit planning/ accounting issues - Half Year Review and full year audit/ Annual Report.
• Manage the balance sheet reconciliation process for Pennon Power and Pennon Group plc.
• Review the VAT and Corporation Tax working papers to ensure compliance.

What we are looking for:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified Accountant
• Extensive experience of preparing financial information in a corporate environment at Group and company level
• Fully conversant with reporting under IFRS and able to take technical lead on new standards/issues
• Excellent understanding of accounting for energy generation and associated standards
• Strong accounting skills including consolidation and group restructuring
