Job Title: Finance Systems Analyst

Location: Flexible to UK locations with occasional travel to Barrow-In-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £55,000 + depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Be the functional expert in SAP S/4HANA FI/CO, with a focus on system administration, reporting, and driving process improvements
  • Collaborating closely with the wider Finance Systems team & IM&T supporting downstream/upstream toolsets
  • Support the Finance Function with month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting, ensuring financial data integrity, compliance, and proactively improving financial controls and procedures
  • Manage and direct multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, ensuring alignment with financial reporting requirements and systems administration
  • Lead automation projects to improve system efficiency and accuracy, identifying and implementing process improvements to drive performance
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of data quality (supporting our Data Stewards & Owners), system support, and financial reporting, ensuring that systems underpin effective decision-making
  • Resolve complex finance system issues by working collaboratively with internal teams and third parties, implementing “lessons learned” for future enhancements
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Finance Manager to ensure ERP/EPM systems and processes support month-end reporting with no risk of misstatement
  • Manage SharePoint for Submarines Finance, driving seamless collaboration and communication across the Finance function
  • Deliver detailed financial analysis and strategic insights to senior management, shaping the future data and management information needs to support business performance

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Extensive experience with SAP S/4HANA FI/CO or similar ERP systems, including system administration, reporting, and driving process improvements within the finance sector
  • Solid background in accounting and finance, with a comprehensive understanding of financial systems and their impact on business performance
  • Proven ability to collaborate with third-party consultants and developers to resolve system issues, optimise processes, and drive cross-functional improvements
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven insights to support financial decision-making
  • In-depth knowledge of finance systems and processes, ensuring integration and functionality across financial operations

Desirable

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent is preferred
  • A degree in finance, business, or a related field is advantageous
