Finance Operations Senior Analyst - Technology

We are looking for a Finance Operations Senior Analyst to join the Advisory Digital Technology Team to support the capital funding process. Responsibilities include business operations activities and financial support, reviewing and ensuring compliance with financial policies and operating procedures, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, and working with our managers to implement new tools and methodologies as needed.

This position consists of day-to-day interaction with project/product teams, vendors, and multi-level management. This is a high-visibility role supporting multiple executives. Ultimately, you will work with various levels of leadership to help our organization reach our goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

As Finance Operations Senior Analyst, you will

  • Prepare forecasts and investigate trends in general business conditions. Coordinate budget preparation. Research and collect input from multiple internal and external resources. Review monthly department and project budget reports to maintain expense controls. Prepare commentary and explanation of variances for management review and fiscal plans along with their relative impacts on the business. Prepare journal entries and ensure that all expenses, receipts, owner's distributions, funding requests, and other transactions for the accounting period have been accurately posted.
  • Assist with developing project plans and costs. This includes personnel and fiscal requirements to achieve defined objectives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for key systems like Peoplesoft, Coupa, ServiceNow, etc. Review the accuracy of information provided or available in multiple systems and answer requests from management, our vendors, and project teams. Provide support or training to teams as needed.
  • Track department processes and procedures to identify opportunities for process and system improvements and recommend solutions that will increase efficiency.
  • Coordinate with off-shore staff and support the processing of vendor POs, SOWs, invoices, billing(s), accounts receivables, contract administration and revenue forecasting. Review expense reports and invoices by comparing and verifying against department budgets. Assist with the preparation of business justification for non-budgeted expenses. Analyze account-wide D&T spend, suppliers, operations, and statement of works to identify opportunities for value creation. Review and report on the progress of contract terminations, expirations, extensions, new contracts, and renewals.
  • Research open accounting issues and recognize potential issues and conflicts so corrective action can intercept and minimize issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policy, real estate law and state/federal guidelines in the following areas: accounts payable, department budgets, revenue forecasting, billing and accounts receivables, and contract administration.

Requirements and skills

To succeed in this role, you must

  • Proven work experience as an Finance Analyst, or similar role
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis is preferred
  • Experience with invoicing software is preferred
  • Experience with procurement is preferred
  • Consulting and project management expertise
  • Qualified candidates will have experience in a large complex corporate organisation
  • Requires knowledge of finance terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including preparing reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must have a proactive approach to problem solving, i.e. fix small problem before they become big problems
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Experience using statistical and database software
  • Proficient with basic technology (e.g., Microsoft Office programs, and Apple devices)
  • Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting or equivalent is preferred
