The Finance team at DWF is looking for an experienced finance professional to join us as a Finance Manager. In this role, you will work within Financial Control to enhance MI and reporting capabilities and implement key processes to support existing operations and future M&A activity.

This position involves timely financial reporting as well as a strategic focus on analysing data, preparing insightful internal reports, and communicating financial insights to stakeholders. A thorough understanding of accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and strong analytical ability will help you succeed.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career with a leading global law firm. The role offers the flexibility of hybrid working, with a requirement of two days per week in our Manchester office.

Responsibilities

Development of MI / Reporting Capabilities

  • Ensure timely delivery of current reporting and maintain robust, well-governed finance data.
  • Collaborate with the Group Forecasting / MI Manager to design and implement evolving reporting requirements, including tools such as Datarails.
  • Drive process improvements by streamlining and automating finance reporting, transforming existing analysis files for greater efficiency and value.
  • Perform complex ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis, providing actionable insights to support senior management decision-making.

Client MI

  • Serve as the primary Finance representative for producing client MI, including billing details, internal financial information, and data presented to clients.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders and the finance systems team to ensure client MI reporting needs are understood and delivered efficiently and accurately.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with key stakeholders across Finance, IT, and other departments to deliver projects and reporting objectives, while providing regular updates to leadership on progress, challenges, and solutions.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Essential

  • Solid financial background with proven experience in managing internal financial reporting, analysis, and improving processes.
  • Commercial awareness and sound judgement to support effective business decision-making in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills with excellent analytical ability and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships at all levels.
  • Experience in Finance MI, reporting, and data transformation projects, along with proficiency in process mapping and delivery.
  • Project management experience, including leading cross-functional teams and driving innovative solutions to enhance processes.

Desirable

  • Background in SQL (not essential)
