Finance Manager - External Reporting

About The Role

Morrisons is recruiting for a Finance Manager to lead a team who manage and produce high quality external financial accounts for the PLC and the Groups subsidiaries. You will act as the first point of contact for the external auditors and management of the audit process and assists the business in the resolution of complex technical queries that can arise.

You'll Be Responsible For

• Identifying ways to make an impact for the stakeholders and respond to them on a timely basis.
• Providing leadership to the team, supporting and developing colleagues to be their best at work every day, managing performance and planning for the future.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with other teams across the business to understand and meet their needs; driving a culture of teamwork across the function.
• Support the Business Improvement agenda, working with Senior Manager to understand business requirements and identify and deliver opportunities.
• Identify personal and professional opportunities for development, driving a culture of personal development & continued up skilling of the team.
• Role model for the ways of Working.
• Drive the team to take ownership for the efficient planning and management of external reporting processes, ensuring control throughout; review and challenge to ensure accuracy and value add output.
• Make decisions considering wider business and reputational implications.
• Lead and deliver change activity focused on improving efficiency. Create a restless culture of continuous improvement across the team.

About You

• A professional qualification of CIMA, ACA, ACCA, ICAS
• Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting requirements for public interest entities
• Attention to detail
• Excellent written communication and planning skills
• Leadership skills - the ability to motivate, develop and coach others to succeed
• An ability to deliver in a complex, fast paced environment
• Excellent analytical thinking and numerical skills
• Working knowledge of databases such as Oracle
• Significant IFRS experience
• Experience of working in an external reporting environment
• Experience of leading teams and managing performance
• A proven track record of identifying and leading business improvements
