Job Description

As a Finance Manager - Engineering, Baggage & Rail, you will play a key role in bringing clarity and insight to the business decisions within the function.

All functions across Heathrow lean on finance advice when making business decisions, tactical or strategic, with immediate effect or longer term. This finance leadership role will play an integral part in helping to explain to a variety of stakeholders, the different value-drivers.

The Finance Manager will provide strong financial support for the Engineering, Baggage & Rail Director, and the role requires sophisticated stakeholder management, excellent modelling, and evaluation skills with the confidence to operate across a number of teams at senior levels.

In addition, the Finance Manager will line manage a Financial Analyst who will support in the development of pricing proposals, cost recovery, as well as monthly performance tracking and budgeting.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting financial performance and providing management insight on results and implications for the outlook, as well as ad-hoc analysis.
  • Being integral to delivering a meaningful budgeting and planning process that has buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Preparation and presentation of financial and non-financial information to support executive and managerial decisions.
  • Appraise and advise on EBITDA impacts of capital projects on the P&L for forecasting purposes and post project benefits analysis.
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders such that key financial decisions are only taken with finance business partner advice & oversight.
  • Suggesting, supporting and delivering improvement initiatives for financial and non-financial processes. Taking ownership and development of financial dashboards tailored for the business.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant - ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent, or part qualified with extensive QBE experience.
  • Experience dealing with non-finance colleagues and influencing them to add financial value to the business to minimise risk.
  • Strong analytical mindset and appetite to solve problems, with the ability to gather, coordinate and present complex and diverse financial information.
  • Ability to implement high-impact continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Commercial outlook.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Previous line management experience, including leading and motivating a team of financial analysts to deliver against tight timescales.
  • Strong financial modelling skills.
  • Ability to gather, coordinate and present complex and diverse financial and non-financial information in a rational, succinct, and clear way that drive decision making and business change.

Working Location

Our agile approach offers the opportunity to combine home working with meetings, events and training at the airport. All roles involve some on-site working each week, so you'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
