Job Description

Our Financial Control team are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team at our HQ in Camden. As a Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization, providing strategic insights, and ensuring compliance with /financial regulations.

The Details:

Financial Accounting

  • Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the business' Opex and Capex operations to support finance and non-finance stakeholders;
  • Ownership for ensuring correct accounting treatment in accordance with IFRS accounting standards across the Opex and Capex area, being pro-active to review current treatment and be able to provide guidance to the business as required;
  • Business Partner the business to ensure business initiatives and associated change impacts are compliant from requirements through to successful implementation; and
  • Collaboration with Accounts Payable team for joint ownership over the non-stock Purchase Order process and ensuring timely payment to suppliers, through weekly communications to business partners, monitoring outstanding POs report and guiding on provisioning.

Financial Control

  • Team ownership for month end P&L journals and Balance Sheet reconciliation accounts across all Opex and Capex areas;
  • Own the review and input to the Financial Control pack ensuring key messaging is conveyed effectively to Senior Management;
  • Ensure appropriate and robust financial control environment on all Opex and Capex areas;
  • Ensure financial controls, processes and risks are fully documented for all Opex and Capex areas and regularly updated to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business. Provide analysis, identify potential process and control weaknesses and make recommendations to management as required and with consideration to future compliance regulation;
  • Assist in the successful delivery of interim and year-end audit as well as ad hoc internal audits as required, ensuring all documents are delivered timely and to required standard; and
  • Assist in ad hoc projects as required by the Head of Financial Accounting, to provide business insight and ensure that Company objectives and deadlines are met.

Team Management

  • Lead the Opex and Capex team to deliver objectives aligned with both Finance and ASOS goals, including excellent stakeholder management both internal and external to Finance;
  • Provide coaching to team members and support them in their career development, creating a supportive learning environment in which talent flourishes;
  • Manage and support the team on a day-to-day basis to ensure all deadlines are met and be pro-active with challenging the status quo of these tasks; and
  • Supporting our culture by driving Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies.

Qualifications

About You:

  • An accounting qualification (ACA or equivalent)
  • Experience post qualification in a similar role
  • Solid understanding of IFRS and FRS 101, in particular IFRS 16
  • A proven ability to plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
  • Advanced skills in Excel (ideally experience with Power Automation tools)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proactiveness in the organisation of own work and to take initiative
  • An ability to determine insightful observations
  • Good communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
