We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager - Accounting and Control to join TUI UK & Ireland, based in Swansea or Luton. This exciting role offers a blend of responsibilities across both Payroll and Treasury functions. As the Payroll lead, you'll manage payroll accounting and pension administration ensuring effective communication across multiple departments and overseeing a team of 3 staff. In Treasury, you'll support cash flow forecasting and foreign currency exposure analysis, working closely with internal teams to provide key insights and drive financial efficiency.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong leadership skills and a passion for improving processes, managing complex data, and delivering impactful financial insights.

ABOUT THE JOB

Payroll Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll accounting, including posting journals, reconciling balance sheets, managing intercompany recharges, and overseeing third-party payments such as HMRC, pension contributions, and deficit payments.
  • Oversee payroll-related benefits administration, including monthly/annual processing, P11D reporting, and pensions for various schemes, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Act as a payroll business partner by providing financial insights to internal stakeholders, handling complex employment tax queries, and supporting audits with improved internal controls.
  • Lead and develop the payroll team while maintaining a trusted control framework, promoting continuous improvement, and automating payroll processe

Treasury Responsibilities:

  • Validate and convert cash spend data into meaningful outputs for finance teams, improving cash flow reporting and reducing "Other" category spend.
  • Reconcile direct and indirect cash flows, ensuring accurate monthly submissions and continuously improving cash reporting systems.
  • Calculate foreign currency balance sheet exposures and address any cash flow errors or anomalies.
  • Analyse bank account spend by season and type, reconciling material movements and liaising with relevant teams to resolve exposures.

ABOUT YOU

  • Qualified accountant.
  • Payroll Knowledge.
  • Experience of implementing and running financial and operational controls.
  • Actively enjoys converting high volume and complex data into succinct and usable information
  • High degree of analytical capability and able to combine with sound understanding and application of mainstream and more technical accounting concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including persuasiveness and/or assertiveness skills.
  • Proven experience of managing and developing multi-disciplined teams across different locations, including day-to-day operations and improvement projects.
  • Demonstrable track record of identifying and delivering process improvements within a team environment, and of coaching and supporting team members in an improvement focussed culture.
