The opportunity.
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Commercial Accountant to join our dynamic team. As a valued partner to teams across the business, you'll provide insightful financial analysis to support decision making as we continue to grow. This is a unique chance to gain a deep understanding of business transactions, while identifying and implementing continuous improvements and automation in financial processes.
What you'll be doing.
- Lead regional month-end close activities with a focus on revenue recognition, project cost validation, and gross margin reporting, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external accounting standards.
- Own transactional accuracy across regional revenue, cost of sales, project setup, change orders, and contract amendments, ensuring all financial data flows correctly through to gross margin, project and customer analysis.
- Prepare and reconcile deferred revenue, accrued revenue, and cost schedules, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all supporting documentation.
- Deliver clear, actionable gross margin insights to business partners, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities across projects, regions, and business units.
- Support global audit requirements, ensuring timely provision of evidence, reconciliations, and process documentation for external auditors and internal assurance teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand commercial activity, project performance, and operational drivers impacting financial results.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements across reporting, data capture, and financial processes, with a strong focus on automation and control enhancement.
- Contribute to the design and rollout of new financial processes, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and alignment with global standards.
- Support ad hoc analysis and projects as the business evolves.
Requirements
What you'll bring.
- Qualified accountant - ACCA/ACA/CIMA
- Years experience in relevant accounting role
- Experience automating and improving processes through systematisation
- Experience building and preparing reporting packs using a reporting tool
- Advanced Excel skills; and
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
