Finance Manager

The M Group Water Division operates across the Morrison Water Services business and a number of Specialists MEICA businesses.

As our Finance Manager you will be working within the BGEN Finance Team, reporting to the Head of Finance and Financial Controller. Your role will mainly be focussed on the BGEN Group within M Group Services, which is a recent Acquisition of M M Group Services.

To be successful, you'll have likely had exposure to multi-faceted / field force organisation or business Partnering individual Business Units and other group support teams.

You will have the opportunity to make an invaluable contribution by providing financial analysis and insights that improve performance and support strategic decision making. Help with business integration and implementation of Oracle ERP.

This role has the potential to be temp to perm, starting on a 9 month FTC

What you'll be doing!

  • You'll be working to ensure collective on time delivery of Month End deliverables. Including reporting on business performance to local executive team as well as into wider Group.
  • You'll ensure that timely (monthly/quarterly) balance sheet reconciliations are undertaken.
  • Processing of journals to ensure accurate reporting for the entities within BGEN.
  • Support and analysis as requested by the Business Areas you work with, in line with agreed timescales.
  • You'll Actively working with the business and associated finance colleagues, supporting the improvement journey to process excellence and pro-actively engaging in improvement activities.
  • Participating in and helping drive forward the Finance Service Delivery, to further help prepare the business for growth and efficiency.
  • To ensure that Group timelines are adhered to.
  • Support Business Planning and Forecasting activities.

What are the top priorities you expect the Finance Manager to address in the role?

M Group has acquired a new formerly owner managed business BGen within the Manchester area with a turnover of c.£200m

Working alongside the current finance team in the acquired business the Finance Manager will support the business integration for the acquired business to move from an owner managed mentality to operate as part of the Water division of M Group (a £2bn mature, PE owned organisation).

This is a varied hands-on role with the key areas of focus:

  • Significantly speed up monthly reporting timeline to meet Group Monthly reporting deadlines.
  • Increase the depth of reporting to incorporate Group requirements including Aged WIP, cash reporting, function (activity reporting).
  • Supporting migration from Sage to Oracle (Group system).
  • Supporting the delivery of Month End and entity reporting.
  • Supporting with Audits.
  • Support on integration data requests to facilitate all integration activity.
  • Ensure that timely (monthly/quarterly) balance sheet reconciliations are undertaken for all subsidiary companies.
  • Resolving/improving of processes and procedures based on any audit findings raised or new policies implemented by Group or Water Finance team.
