Reporting into the Financial Controller and the CFO, the Finance Manager understands the necessity for confidentiality, accuracy, speed and professionalism. The successful candidate will be highly organised, resilient, and able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment with the ability to adapt to change. The ideal candidate will work both independently and within a team and show initiative to seek ways to improve processes and efficiency where necessary.

Key Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience of managing or leading a team
  • Experience of accounting for international subs essential and experience in international payroll is desirable
  • Experience in Enterprise Software is highly desirable.
  • Experience of Sage Intacct or similar software
  • Experience in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles. Knowledge of regulatory requirements UK listed companies highly desirable.
  • Experience across Microsoft office applications and ability to master new software systems
  • Strong problem solving
  • International currency and Foreign Exchange experience is desirable
  • Experience of working within an International finance team is desirable
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK GAAP

Role Description

  • Execute accounting processes including revenue recognition and other technical accounting areas
  • Lead the Monthly financial close to ensure completeness of the day-to-day activities
  • Responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures, i.e., journal entries, account reconciliations including payroll, month-end production of Group consolidation
  • Review balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis for management and audit review
  • Manage Cash functions including timely reconciliations and funding for international entities
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment, updating controls and processes as needed
  • Manage the Fixed Assets and streamline fixed asset tracking
  • Promote a culture of improvement and operational innovation to improve processes
  • Over time supervise and develop the team and support their professional growth
  • Assist with financial analysis and special projects as needed
  • Management of payroll and pension services, including journal preparation
  • Manage VAT reporting and compliance
  • Manage UK tax reporting including PSA and P11d
  • Manage UK reporting activities
  • Manage cash monitoring
  • Support in approval of payments
  • Manage & support Grant applications and reporting
  • Support external and internal auditors

Education

  • Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) qualification
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is desirable
