About the opportunity:

We are currently looking for a permanent Finance Manager to join our growing finance department at our Hamilton Office.

As a Finance Manager you will be is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management (inclusive of General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Billing and Accounts Payable). Key responsibilities include:

  • To lead and support the team to ensure delivery of all reporting and services to agreed deadlines. To ensure that all reporting is accurate, timely and robust.
  • Monthly and year-end close processes, management and statutory financial reporting
  • Budget and forecast preparation
  • Cash flow forecast and reporting
  • Finance business partnering to LMAM Senior Management by providing financial insights on profitability and key cost drivers
  • Design, implementation and application of internal control policies and procedures
  • Financial risk management including working capital management.

The role has responsibility for three direct reports (Finance Assistant (AP), Credit Controller and Graduate) whilst assuming oversight of one additional indirect report.

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Financial Controller in delivering LMAM's financial objectives.
  • Oversee timely preparation of monthly management accounts and supplementary performance analysis in line with month-end and year-end Group reporting requirements.
  • Prepare Board level commentary and reporting on a monthly and ad-hoc basis. This is underpinned by regular engagement with senior stakeholders to ensure sound understanding of business performance to inform reporting.
  • Management of the Finance team and associated transactional activity, ensuring timeliness of delivery of day-to-day activities and quality of outputs produced.

Act as a coach and mentor to the team and provide best practice advice. Identify development areas for members of team.

  • The preparation of detailed budget and forecasts from scoping through execution including scenario analysis and planning
  • Be an active business partner to Senior Management to present and challenge financial performance and to interrogate key performance drivers
  • Co-ordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and statutory reporting as required including the year-end audit process.
  • Review and authorisation of weekly payment runs.
  • Monitor cash flow projections, ensuring sufficient cash liquidity within LMAM.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and enhance LMAM's internal control framework
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance. Other finance tasks as required by Financial Controller and wider leadership team as required

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Experience of managing a team of finance professionals
  • IT literate and ability to use computer packages including excellent use of Excel.
  • Previous experience of external audit process
  • Good written and oral communication skills with experience of senior stakeholder reporting

Desirable:

  • Experience of systems and/or processes and control implementation
  • Multi-site experience within utility/ construction/ engineering sector
  • Proficient use in other finance software such as Microsoft NAV, Microsoft Dynamics or other relevant accounting systems.

Qualification:

  • The successful candidate will possess a relevant Degree qualification as well as a relevant CCAB accounting qualifications (ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA) or equivalent.
