Finance Director - Parcels & Consumer
Location: Farringdon, London - Hybrid with regular presence of approx. 2-3 days required in the office.
Reports to: Commercial Finance Director
We are seeking an exceptional Finance Director - Parcels & Consumer to shape the long-term financial strategy, commercial direction and performance of one of our most exciting and fast-growing divisions. This is a pivotal leadership role with full end-to-end oversight of a multi billon revenue business operating in a highly dynamic and competitive market.
You will play a central role in driving transformation, accelerating growth and enabling the business to make bold, insight-led decisions. As a trusted strategic partner to senior leadership, you will influence the agenda, challenge thinking, and ensure the business is positioned to deliver both short-term performance and long-term value. You will also lead and develop a talented team of two Finance Business Partners, fostering a culture of high performance and commercial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and influence business strategy, ensuring alignment to long-term growth ambitions and robust KPIs
- Lead the Annual Business Plan (ABP) and forecasting cycles, driving high-quality assumptions, clear scenario planning and visibility of risks and opportunities
- Partner closely with Managing Directors and leadership teams to embed strong performance management and enable informed commercial decision-making
- Drive transformational change, including line of business P&L, and bringing sharp commercial insight and financial challenge to accelerate decision-making and optimise ROI
- Introduce forward-looking reporting and analysis, enabling true data-driven leadership
- Support monthly and quarterly performance reviews, presenting clear, actionable options to enhance profitability, margin and revenue
- Champion continuous improvement, modernising processes and supporting standardisation across finance
- Lead, mentor and develop Finance Business Partners, role-modelling best-practice business partnering
- Act as a key deputy to the Commercial Finance Director, contributing to the broader strategic agenda
About You
You will combine strategic thinking, commercial acumen and hands-on leadership. We're looking for someone who is:
- MBA-qualified and/or a professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experienced in commercial finance within competitive, fast-growing markets
- Strong in private-equity-style environments, able to manage multiple senior stakeholders
- A credible, influential communicator with the confidence to challenge and shape decisions
- Proven in leading finance business partnering teams within matrix organisations
- Commercially sharp, with experience delivering growth strategies and measurable value
- Agile, solution-focused and energised by driving change at pace
- Technically strong across governance, controls, audit, ethics and risk management
- Highly proficient with finance systems, Microsoft tools and ERP platforms
- Experienced as a Finance Director in Retail, FMCG, fast fashion or parcels (desirable)
Qualifications
- MBA and/or recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
