Finance Director - Parcelforce Worldwide

Location: Farringdon, London - Hybrid with regular presence of approx. 2-3 days required in the office.

Reports to: Commercial Finance Director

We are seeking an exceptional Finance Director - Parcelforce Worldwide (PFW) to lead the financial strategy, performance, and long-term commercial direction of one of the UK's most recognised parcel delivery brands. This is a high-impact strategic leadership position, with full end-to-end P&L accountability, offering the opportunity to influence major strategic, operational and commercial decisions.

As PFW continues to transform in a highly competitive, fast-moving market, you will play a pivotal role in steering the business through turnaround activity, embedding new performance standards, and supporting strategic integration and transformation programmes. You will operate with significant visibility across the organisation and lead a team of four finance professionals to deliver strong performance today while shaping long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and influence business strategy and KPIs, ensuring alignment with the long-term growth agenda
  • Lead the Annual Business Plan and forecasting cycles, driving robust assumptions, scenario planning and clear articulation of risks and opportunities
  • Partner the Managing Director and leadership teams to embed a strong performance culture and enable effective commercial and financial decision-making
  • Accelerate transformational change, using insight, commercial acumen and analytical rigour to support rapid decision-making and maximise return on investment
  • Enhance forward-looking reporting and analysis, enabling informed, data-driven leadership decisions
  • Develop clear action plans for monthly and quarterly performance, providing insightful commentary on revenue, profit, margin and KPI trends for the Executive Board
  • Champion continuous improvement and standardisation, elevating finance processes and challenging legacy ways of working
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Finance Business Partners, acting as a role model for best-practice business partnering
  • Regularly deputise for the Commercial Finance Director, contributing to broader strategic leadership

About You

You combine strategic vision, commercial strength and hands-on leadership. You will bring:

  • MBA-qualified and/or a recognised professional accountant
  • Experienced in commercial finance, with a strong track record of leading turnarounds, transformation and strategic integration
  • Skilled in operating within private-equity-style environments, managing multiple stakeholders and delivering results
  • A credible and influential communicator, able to challenge and engage senior leaders
  • A proven leader of finance business partnering teams within a matrix structure
  • Commercially astute, with experience delivering growth strategies and adding measurable value
  • A proactive, solutions-focused team player with a strong "can-do" approach
  • Agile, adaptable and comfortable driving change at pace
  • Confident in challenging the status quo and improving processes
  • Technically strong across accounting, controls, governance, audit, ethics and risk management
  • Highly IT-literate, with experience across Microsoft tools, finance systems and ERP platforms
  • Experienced as a Finance Director within retail, fast fashion, FMCG or parcels (advantageous)

Qualifications

  • MBA and/or recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
