Finance Director EMEA and UK

Kennedys is looking for a Finance Director - EMEA and UK to join our Finance team based in the UK. The successful Finance Director - EMEA and UK will be responsible for direction and management of the finance performance of the UK and EMEA regions. The role will also deputise for the Chief Financial Officer when required.

The focus of the role is to increase profile and cash from the UK and EMEA operations whilst ensuring that the risk within the business is appropriately managed.

Team

Kennedys Finance team support the firm globally producing timely and accurate financial and management information, reporting solutions and operational support to maintain the high standard of service offered to the firm's internal and external clients.

Our Finance team is made up of Group Financial Reporting, Client Reporting and Insights, Pricing, Finance Systems and Finance Operations (billing, credit control, cashiers, finance database). The UK Finance team based in Chelmsford and London support UK and international operations.

Finance has a presence in multiple international offices.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the business in the UK and EMEA, providing constructive challenge, early identification of risks and issues and prompt escalation of issues where colleagues can add value.
  • Act as a deputy to the CFO as required
  • Work closely with the CFO and the rest of the finance leadership team to streamline financial processes across the region and, with the rest of the world, rolling out best practice
  • Guide members of the UK and EMEA finance team, encouraging personal development and work with teams and individuals to strengthen the depth and breadth of skills and competency across the teams
  • Ensure that each office in EMEA produces a cash flow identifying pinch points, and liaising with the central Treasury function to ensure that cash is moved between offices and the central Treasury function as required. Produce a consolidated cash flow for EMEA
  • Provide business partnering and commercial support to the UK practice group heads and EMEA managing partner including provision of management information; budgeting and planning and forecasting.

Required experience

  • Ideally Professional finance qualification or MBA (alternatively proven relevant experience will also be considered)
  • Experience gained within professional services sector (legal sector experience is not required)
  • Technically competent with ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
  • Working capital management
  • Willing to travel.
