What you`ll do
At Animal Friends, we are seeking an experienced and visionary finance leader to oversee our Finance function and play a pivotal role in shaping our future. This is a unique opportunity to influence high-level decisions, ensure financial integrity, and guide our organisation toward sustainable growth.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and an active contributor to our Board, you'll bring insight, rigour, and a collaborative spirit to everything from strategy development and compliance to process improvement and team leadership. Reporting into the Chief Finance Officer for Pinnacle Pet Group, you'll work closely with the Animal Friends CEO, senior stakeholders, and sister businesses across the Group, delivering transparency, building trust, and leading initiatives that strengthen our financial position and open doors to new opportunities.
Who you are
- Chartered Accountant with extensive financial and regulatory reporting experience.
- Proven track record as a senior finance leader with experience delivering shareholder value.
- Background in the Financial Services sector; prior Private Equity experience is desirable.
- Hands-on, action-oriented leader with the ability to make well-considered decisions under time pressure.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a relentless drive to achieve the best outcomes.
- Experience in European markets is an advantage.
- Strategic and innovative mindset, with the ability to align business and finance strategy to deliver profitable growth.
- Confident and professional presenter with regular Board-level experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- Experience in implementing and optimising management information systems to enhance Board-level decision-making.
- Entrepreneurial, pragmatic, and open to new ideas, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Demonstrates ethical behaviour and ensures alignment with organisational values.

Our recruitment process
As an FCA regulated business, we require successful applicants to clear our pre-employment screening process which includes a credit check, a DBS check and references checks. As this role holds accountability for Senior Manager Function 2 under the FCA Senior Managers Certification Regime, the successful candidate will need to be approved by the Regulator as part of our recruitment process.
